If your going to spend closet to 2k for rims man, watanabe's, 15x9 -16 or -20 (its either but its only 4mm) Otherwise SSR do sets for about 2k depending on who delivers them for you, when you think about it, you coulsnt lose much on em unless you busted one up. a second had set with a decent size and offset will still set you back atleast 1600. Simmons wheels are good but dont look great. Just some food for thought.

i dont want to spend 2k on rims, thats why i ask now before i waste any time wif trying to make them fit

as far as i can find out, vl's are +38. if i need nearer to 0 then its gonna be way to expensive to make these fit...
on another note, ta-022, urs doesnt have the brakes yet does it? so couldnt this upgrade effect where the rims sit?

i diss agree wif u on that but man, i love the simmons i got. they are v5's. imagine them wif a raw metal centres and polished dish.. pure porn...
i like the wattanabee's , but would certainly choose the look alike *rewinds?* ones over them. look close enough for me and cost a whole lot less

yeh so before anyone forgets, anyone wif the brakes, wat offset rims do u run?

celica std wheel offset is +32 on a 5" wide

INNER EDGE 94.5mm - wheel face - 30.5mm OUTER EDGE

how wide are the simons? 7" for instance would be (with their +38)

INNER EDGE 125.5mm - wheel face - 49.5mm OUTER EDGE

so the simmons rims would extend an extra 31mm towards the shocks
and also stick out an extra 19mm towards guard lips than std.

add to this std diff is 1375mm and volvo is 1400mm

so +25mm is another 12.5mm to each side.

    basically

    1. Sell simmons
    2. Fit Hilux front and something rear
    3. Buy as big a dish that fits this
    4. ????
    5. Profit!

Of those who have fitted corona xt13x struts to their 23/28, can anyone tell me whether their original 23/28 shocks and springs fit perfectly, not affecting ride height?

ie: is the length between center of hub and lower spring perch the same on both struts and is the spring perch the same diameter? is the strut tube the same length and diameter?

I'm just wondering as i have just bought new springs and shocks for my '28 and dont wanna have to get another set when i get the corona struts.

    cheers guys!

only diff between ra23/28 and coronaXT130 that ive found is the caliper mount.

confirming this is the fact that repco list same part numbers for ra23/28/40/60 xt130.

that and ive had em next to each other.

Am I wrong in assuming that this would be the same for the TA23?

I think TA23s have TA22 gear, they have smaller wheels and brakes compared to the RA23...

I am pretty sure about the brakes, so I am guessing that the ta23 would be the same as the ta23 due to the same weight up the front. What was the difference in then? Length? I was looking at the pics of my two and couldent pinpoint it.
