    Correct.
And these o-rings were replaced with the new ones that came in the Repco rebuild kit.

    moefoe,

I beleive the rear complete disc brake assembly from the equivalent year Corolla or from the Seca (Twinky) bolts in. Someone can give the model codes as I do not know exactly.

n0rto: have u looked at MA61 units before? they are 15/16" and seem to be identical to the T/RA23 bolt pattern. if this is the same as RA40 then u mite be in luck.

All you guys who have done the hilux/pug/corona upgrade...

How does it effect your track width??, and camber?

on ra40 inparticular i guess, although ra40 front suspension is the same as ra23/28 isn't it?

i want to upgrade mine and I'm running really offset wheels. If the track width increases my tyres will be out past the bodywork.

Also springs... do the celica front springs fit in the corona strut or will i need to get corona springs aswell?

    cheers

so I've done some searching on the old forums, there is some talk of changing track width. But most people seem to think it doesn't.

I also saw a post which said that the celica shocker inserts and spring fit with no problems.

    Can anyone confirm these things?

i think the the show stopper would be the depth of the strut tube - so the celica strut insert is sitting on the base of the insdie of the tube or some kind of spacer.

If you can wait til after easter, i'll rip apart my XT130 struts and measure the inserts.

my recollection of the original upgrade tech article on the old site as that the spring height was different. - i can measure any differences as well if wanted.

    cheers,
    Charles.

thats ok. I don't want you to pull apart anything unless you already are.

I'll just go nuts with a measuring tape at the wreckers. and compare with the ra40 ones. Just wanted to know if it was going to be an issue. Having to get new springs and/or inserts cranks up the costs a fair bit.

    any ideas on track width?

    cheers

is easy - i have the RA40 strut inserts and the XT struts need to have springs removed anyway.

i think the track-width increase is bogus - the strut angle is the same, the hubs are nearly identical, you use the same lower control arm.

You would get a slight increase if you used a different disk and went hat-over-hub.

if the inserts fit some how (with spacers or whatever) i can always move the spring carrier thing to get the same ride height.

I think it must be close, or the same.

according to one guy in this thread (toy77, about 3/4 the way down) ra28 spring and inserts fit, which are the same as ra40 i think.

    i beg to differ

on the GA40 i have the XT130 struts/peugot rotors and hilux callipers. with this setup i can succefully run S13 silvia rims, 15" x 7" x 40 offset. the tyre comes very very close to the xt130 strut tube but does not touch (~1.5mm gap).

however on my other RA40 (the stock-standard daily driver) these rims will not fit infact id say the difference is as much as 10mm.

hmm.... interesting. Its strange that some people think it changes track width and others don't. Maybe there are differences out there.

long shot but... is there a chance one of your struts is slightly bent brett?
