OK thanks. I can strike the 3.27 off my list then and it appears only the pre 1994 celsior/crown/LS400 will have the G series and i believe the tallest they came in was a 3.9.

I'm down to the 3.58 as an option in the RN80/90 Hiluxes and RZN161 tacoma as well as the 3.42 in the RZN140/50 Tacomas as definites.

Some reference to 3.07 and 3.42 in the late 80s early 90 4Runners but only in the US as far as i can tell.

None of the part numbers listed above in tables appear to work in the local toyota dealers computer?

    jzx90 and jzx100 A series are compatible with G series C+P

unfortunately with the US 4wd market they are commonly referred to as the "V6 diff" or the "4cyl diff" etc... makes life a bit hard. and i dont exactly know what the tacoma/sequolia/wtf name whatever actually refers to either

I know this thread is mainly refering to the IRS diff centres but since there has been a little bit f talk aboutthe hilux gears.

In my TA22 I have an early series ARB air locker centre designed for the older G series hilux diffs and it has the A series 3.7 diff gears bough new from toyota as fitted to a 1999 rwd Auto Hilux.

In the RA28 I have the complete LSD centre, also an A series 3.7 from a 2007 3.0L turbo diesel hilux. Both are 8" G series equivilent although I did not count the bolts on the 2007 crown wheel as I fitted the entire centre.

Hilux A is the same as old G , even the new ones .
Trouble with all hilux stuff after about 2000 it was made in thailand and from past experiance diffs arnt as good as the earlyer ones.

Just to add something to the mix - the IS-F appears to use the Supra/Soarer/Aristo "A" series, and is 2.94:1

alrighty just found out something interesting for those of us wanting short ratios in the so-called "A" series - looks like the US Lexus SC300 used a 4.27...

as you can see from my table in the previous post, thats an 11T pinion, 47T crown which is confirmed in that pic
