Yeah i was going off the aus delivered stuff.
Checked Rod's & its a 3.7
You might have to fly over & have a wander around some US wrecking yards!
Landed it was $225 (crap exchange rate).
Tallest i know of is a 3.08 and there's a 3.42 (4Runner V6).....could also be a 3.15 but i think that's the 12 bolt crown wheel not the earlier and more common 10 bolt.
3.42 would be a pretty good but only know for sure it was US delivered.

It's almost coming to that![]()

Ok it's all got a little more confusing again.
Can those who have had a Supra IRS diff apart confirm that the crown wheel was the 10 bolt G series not the later 12 bolt (i think this is a difference between the G and A series 8 inch crown wheels).

OK think i have answered my own question. The JZA70 is def a G coded diff so means 10 bolt i suspect?

Supra A series has a 10 bolt crownwheel. Supra B series has a 12 bolt crownwheel and is 3.2 ratio.
Jealousy is a curse
Hmm more weirdness then as there's definitely a 12 bolt 8 inch crownwheel...late model tacoma's and the like run it so i assume some model Hiluxes here will run it too.
Anyways, pretty sure the supra CW is 10 bolt...fingers crossed as that is what the full spool is to suit![]()

The B series is a bit bigger in the crownwheel and has 35 spline axles and only fits the Supra
Jealousy is a curse
yah i know B CW is bigger but there IS a 12 bolt 8 inch CW is what i'm saying....whether the 12 bolt 8 inch crownwheel is still a G series or actually an A series i couldn't say, the later diff codes are wack![]()

indeed.
I just did a search through the entire JDM EPC catalog - There is precious little under 3.7:1 ratio for any rwd Toyota let alone Hilux
If the Celsior/LS400 UCF2x (1994-2000) are G series compatible then that could be your answer - 3.27:1
No way to tell for sure though as you can only go by what the diff housing looks like - the Celsior had a unique housing different to the more common JZX, Supra/Soarer, etc
12-bolt crown wheels appear to be off Landcruisers
(edit) wait - found Tacoma

Disclaimer: I have no idea if these are G-series compatible, and to further complicate things, some crown wheels appear to be 12-bolt, and some appear to be 10-bolt, and i cant tell what are on what model...

Yup as confusing as hell. There are definitely 3.07, 3.42 and 3.58 in G series. These came in US V6 and turbo 22R hiluxes. I can source the 3.58 as an aftermarket option but a bit pricey.
The 3.15 may be a G series, may be a A series and/or may be 12 bolt...i haven't figured out how to tell.
I have a local toyota parts guru on the hunt for me and he's tops with imports too so hopefully he can turn something up and i can add some concrete data to the list.
