Update: The problem still exists, but continues to get more strange.

This afternoon i tried a working stock ECU that Matt sent up. It wouldnt start the car at all, not a hint of spark. No engine light when ign set to 'on' either.

Put back in existing ECU, started car up fine. No engine light etc. Took car for about a 10 min drive during which it was perfectly fine, didnt skip a beat until the light came flickering back on randomly again.
I can hear the fuel pump relay randomly clicking on and off now too. Sometimes just one click, other times its going nuts.

Im stumped as to why the stock ECU wouldnt even start the car. I would assume this means its not the ECU thats the issue, rather a sensor of som variety? What could cause all this wacky elec behaviour? Faulty knock sensors maybe?

Or maybe the CAS is stuffed again.

If the CAS was stuffed why would one ECU work and the other not? This seems rather confusing.

Can I unplug the knock sensors to see if this does anything? I can see at least 2 hidden down under the intake mani, or is there a third somewhere?

I drove it to the workshop with the stuffed CAS...the blitz ecu can sort of override it somehow and run in limp mode
