Default JZZ30 Loom Vs JZA70 Loom

i've been ringing everywhere i can today looking for a loom and so far i've only been able to dig up a JZZ30 loom, not a single JZA70 one in about 40 places i've rang nationwide.

    soo... its got me thinking.

How compatible is this loom with the JZA70 Engine + JZA70 ECU?

im quite happy to rewire it and i know that will be required especially where connecting to the ECU is concerned.. and strip off any unneccessary wiring... however what else is physically different? are the igniters + coil packs the same?

if its not going to be a big problem, i may just wire the jzz30 loom up instead.

Coils and ignitor are the same. But you'd need the jzz30 soarer ecu if your gonna use the soarer harness. The ecu plugs are completely different between the soarer and supra. The soarer loom wont have the hydrolic waterpump wire's in it.

ahhh is that the main differences?

hmm thats got me thinking.. what if i just ran new wiring up thru it and sourced some new ECU connectors? (apparently they're the same connectors on the JZA70 as they are on the 3SGTE MR2)

further to that... what plugs into it? ignitor... coilpacks and what other ignition bits do i need?

Yeh you could do that. Coil packs should be attached to the engine, you'll also need the map sencer. If ya need an ignitor i have a couple here.

If ya need any help with the wiring just ask.

I fitted a JZZ30 engine & loom into my GZ20 not too difficult the plugs are essentially different but positions & stuff much the same. I've lots of wiring info if you need it, though I used the JZA70 info to do it.

map sensor is same for 1J and 2J from what Todd found, so either one will do.

you might need a lead from the 2J one though, as AFAIK the plugs are a wee bit different.
