    1. Don't forget to lube the threads on the new bolts with plenty of oil.
    2. Refer post one.

^^ thanks man, I'm gonna go out and suss it this arvo when it's not so damn cold.

One thing though, draining the oil through the spark plug hole, wouldn't it just sit on the piston? I'm also getting nasty thoughts of the motor hydraulic-ing with liquid onto of the piston. Although it would be a damn sight easier than 'mopping' up all that oil with rags

i let mine drain into the holes and turned it over with no plugs etc.......didnt hydraulic at all. Not saying that i recommend doing it but worked out for me and as my 7M is already on its last legs it didnt really bother me

Of course it won't hydraulic lock if you turn it over with no plugs...there won't be any compression! But it would just spray the oil all over the place.

Sounds like the awesomest, easiest way to do it. I'd just remove the 7M altogether.

Salt will soak up the excess water.
Then you need to find someone who knows how to get rid of the salt

I pumped mine out with the pump you get in hand cleaner or shampoo bottle. Unscrew it from the bottle, stick the tube into the gallery, pump and catch it in a container or even squirt it back into the cam shaft area to drain back into the engine.

Crambo method 2. You can fill chambers with water to float off oil then use straw to suck out water, if you don't like the taste, add cordial. Alternatively instead of water use Beer.
