and the exhaust manifold.... very neat!!

i'm not sure if this should be in tech or general car talk.. mods?
anyway,
3SGTE, making
470HP at 6000rpm due to 43.9mm restrictor
650Nm at 4500rpm
plenum seems rather thin?
i apologise or crap picture quality
larger pics are available for email to those genuinely interested in dimensions. (ie who make or will make their own manifolds)

oh, and 650Nm from 2L is approx 2-2.5 bar boost.... not a bad effort! esp with the restrictor

Nice shots.
I think I heard it mentioned that the TRD 3S-GTE intake uses blacktop 20V quads. Would this be using these same items? Or custom?
Also that exhaust manifold looks spookily like cyl 3 doesn't exist.
Hen
not sure on the quads... i'll look thru pics and see if i have a better shot of them..
as for the exhaust... took my a while to figure it (maybe)
looks like it is a split pulse turbine, so that the runner from cyl2, joins cyl3 (like log type) since they are out of phase anyway..... and goes to one side of turbine
then 1 and 4 and equal length also, and go to the other side of the turbine??
make sense?

I think i just pooped a little!
Wouldn't mind that in an aw11![]()
Someone lend me some 20V quads... need to do some measurements now!
id be keen to see these measurements - piss of TVIs - make quad throttle manifold - yum!

well Stu. is there any difference between the gen2 3sge and gte head/port wise? Cos im looking at making up a set of quads for mine from a 20V.I just need to get everything else done first and then look at that
I find the most interesting bit is the exhaust manifold. Not only is it cast, but doesn't have equal length headers (as far as I can tell).
Inlet manifold shows lots of aerodynamics in it.
What sort of fuel was it running ?
Size of IC ?
Nice pics there Stewy !!!

The exhaust manifold is cast but it's cast inconel rather than iron. They're pretty damn light and have much bigger runners than you'd think from looking at the outside of the manifold.
At least this is true fro the TTE manifold and this one looks exactly the same.
That looks shweet. A very nice 3S-GTE
Hm, that inlet manifold doesnt seem to follow the normal principles, especially with that massive taper down to Cyl4. But with the +ve pressure im sure it gets fed enough.
I would be interested in getting larger pics, the inlet intrigues me, and would make a good model for ACCreator
The throttles dont seem to be 20v units, but rather an adaptation. The bolts for the plenum/plate seem to go through the unit and then bolt in from the back. Why didnt i think of this for mine?

Thanks for the pictures.
If possible, I would appreciate a couple of pics of the oil filter housing/timing belt area.
I noticed something under the intake manifold in the last picture of the first post (trd3sgte-plenum4-sml.jpg)
I can't quite make it out though...
