Thanks for the uber pics Stewart. The 4th cylinder really is quite interesting, seems to narrow down a lot towards the bottom but from the top down shot it shows that there is still a fair bit of area above what i assume to be the bellmouth.
For that matter, most of the trumpets would be obscured by the bottom of that airbox being so close to the mouth. Given the level of development of the GT Supra i would have to assume that its not brake master clearances or anything as menial as that, but rather that they must be using the pre-existing throttle angle to direct the air down into the back of the valves.
Also seeing how close that alternator is makes me feel a whole lot better about mine![]()

Can you email me the same pics you sent takai, I'm not after anything in particular, that setup just looks sweet as and I want to see more!
no worries....
just looking again... i wonder if that 3-4mm alloy sandwhich sheet in the intake manifold is actually for some kind of louvre or similar to direct air to each cylinder???
otherwise, why would they have it there? given that the rest of the parts are all custom made anyway, the sudden neeed for use of a 3mm spacer seems odd... unless it is supporting extra bits inside the manifold??

thanks for posting these pics wheich appear to be from the GT500 class car (300 or 500 kw max limit depending on class) I hope the ones you posted a a little bit better quality--I'll check. The intake taper is not common in race circle and I assume has been derived from flow testing, as it is clearly not a 1-off part. In fact, not much appears as 1-offs, but I have not seen the same parts on some other TOMS engines I inspected a couple of years back. thanks again
I thought they rated them based on hp, not kW?

i thought it was power stroke? 'ps' which i think is close nuff to hp anyways![]()
