In all honesty i am just subscribing to this thread as i would like to manualise the 1uz before it goes in the celica....i was thinking of manualising the auto as one option.

You want one Norbs? I have a spare....i can set it up for Tremec or W series boxes. Comes with the super light 1.8kg flywheelStreet use is a bit iffy...doable but you need to have a very precise shift technique and bumper to bumper traffic would not be fun.

I'm just wondering if such a setup could be adapted to other Toyota engines which don't have a factory manual option.![]()

As in the GZ? and the answer is yes. In fact isn't the GZ crank PCD the same as the UZ? drop me a PM.

I will pm you (clutch noob and i don't want to fill up this thread).
Toyospares also do a 1UZ to W58 kit, & can do mod' to the stock ECU to run a manual..
xUZ and 1gzfe share the same flywheel
cheers

flex plate really....
So coming back to this, what sort of clutch is a good idea for something more performance orientated, and not going to destroy my bank account?
Along the lines of a single button type clutch? {not going all out just yet}
And are there any options for flywheel from any existing toyotas rather then going custom?
Turbo? NA?

NA to begin.
Turbo very soon after {when bugs/bank account have settled}
Then don't waste the money on the W58.
Go R154 minimum.

Thats what I was thinking, any idea on the flywheel/clutch options?
Or is it just simpler to get a clutch to suit the box, and get a custom flywheel?
