yeah i know but the usual response is that (talking gemini's low hp cars) if i had traction i would of gone faster....

but if you left the line with less revs she would of hooked up better........

Me too i hate breaking stuff at the track. Ruins the fun.

Yes, I've tried experimenting with different revs, and if too high can definitely make it worse rather than better.

That's why I still haven't perfected it. I don't blame the traction, but am trying to improve those kind of areas generally as well, and see what (if any) affect they have.

hey man.. often for me traction is a problem!... 205's have a had time sticking to the ground with 270hp..

I don't think we'll need GemsWA... we have enough Toyota power interested so far... thanks anyway..

Has the Gemini been down the quarter before? Or is that not really it's domain?

Were you planning on taking it down or going to watch a friend down there?

Gene is your LSD in yet? i cant recall.....i've witnessed your problems with traction so can vouch its not really your driving, well i dont believe so, i know all too well the dilemma's with traction and Lets face it my driving freakin rocks so it couldnt be that (that bit was a joke)
All you need is one flukey hookup and you'll be laughing, ride that clutch as much as ya can without killing it to prevent wheelspin for as long as possible.
Apparently on my 12.80 sec run it sounded like i was slipping my clutch the whole way through first because the revs didnt change but i seemed to get faster and faster in 1st gear, not too mention very little wheelspin.
Maybe i'l post up the vid to show wot i mean.
The R comps will help you alot gene, even though they arent an actual drag tire as such.

Here ya go gene, this is my 2nd fastest run, this is wot i mean about the clutch slipping and the revs not sounding like they are changing, i did 2 12sec runs in a row using same technique, unfortunantly i do believe it was wot killed my heavy duty clutch, which was brand new for those runs. Ah well it was worth it

    Enjoy

was a auto trader fast friday. i had dialed in on a 15.10 and i was racing the charger from vulcan panel and paint. She didn't make it off the line to far but broke the green. I saw she was ages away and backed off. apparently i didn't back off hard enough and went through almost 4 tenths too fast . She went on to win the night too.

it was a G180Z with a 120 thou bore, 490 thou and 297 duration cam and twin 44 idf webers. head flowed 117 cfm @ 10 inches of water and 10:1 comp. Car weighed in at 950 with me in it.

Thumbs up Re: OST drag night - " " Feb 2008

Yep, I've got the TRD 2-way in. And I have no doubt I can do better off the line (i.e. my driving).

Cool, a pretty good time. Would be good to see/hear your race Gem run - or the yellow TA22 as in your avatar (I know it's not yours) - good to see a racing TA22

I'll just have to see how I go this time around As I said, it would be nice to shave a second off the 14.8.

Thanks Matty. I've always been a bit cautious with my clutch/gearbox/diff, and don't think I've really ridden the clutch off the line much. Whether that's the problem, I'm not sure.

But I did find if I tried too high on the revs, there was too much wheel spin or axle tramp.
