I recomend you to ditch the oem EFI system and get a megasquirt or something else to run your engine it will save you many headeches.
Thanks guys, now I said, i want this engine.
I want to swap my Hachirocku for drifting and Daily car.
I find a engine, but he doesn't have a Airflow meter, it's Possible to use a other Toyota airflow meter?

Hey guys ihave just done a thread on the 3tgte stuff i have lying around for sale.
http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/eng...ool-stuff.html
i know there was someone on here chasing the dizzy and rotor etc so you can have first dibs on that, i think I may have a few more lying around at my dads place too.
cheers

Megasquirt is a programable fuel injetion system, it comes full stand alone meaning it controls fuel and timing and it comes fuel only that control just fuel, it comes as a blank ECU that need to be mounted/connected and a base map need to be downloaded to the system via a PC with its program and connecting/interface wire, it is not for begeners the instalation of this system but once is done and running it is easy to make changes and deal with it by just a press of buttons, and if you mess up you can always go back to the stored map you where running before you mess up and start over again, it is the way to go, i wont even bodder anymore with carbs at all at the end you end up spending almost the same $$ and dont have the head eches of changes in tunning due to climate changes EFI take care of that!
Any body know the Interchange Part Number about this number: 22250‑28020?
this number is Toyota AFM number for 3TGTE
As a substitute for AFM, I am using one from a 5mge. ie from ma61 celica-supra or mx71 cressida. but you will need to fit an apapter pipe as it is larger diameter. It will also need to be tuned. you can do this by removing the plastic cover (slice the glue) and turning the toothed wheel clockwise to lean it out. from memory about 5 clicks. You will need an air/fuel meter to make sure it does not lean out too much.
I then fitted 7mgte supra injectors and leaned the afm out alot more. I also bridged the fuel pump check terminal (two pin plug near chain tensioner) to keep the fuel pump running due to the afm flap closing at idle and shutting the pump off. This happens due to tightening the afm flap spring to lean the A/F ratio. with an innovate motorsports wideband gauge, i've tuned to 11:1 A/F at full load 14psi boost and have thrashed it at the track so i'd consider it reliable.
I've also fitted a front mount intercooler and moved the afm to the exhaust side. Using an ST185 Celica GT-4 intake pipe to adapt the larger afm which also has a bend in it. the headlight is removed to fit air filter.
Re flywheels. I prefer lightened. The TG rotating mass is already heavy.
2tgeu definately feel better when lightened. they feel sluggish when compared to a 4age for instance. I fitted a 4.3kg fly (oem is 11kg?) and it woke up nicely with no problems with idle and stop/start driving. (unlike a 5kg flywheel fitted on a 20v 4age which stalls too easy).
I then put that 4kg fly on the 3tgte and it runs fine. I use this for drifting.
The 1g-eu, 1gge, 1ggte, 1ggze flywheels come with different weights. the lightest ive found is 8kg from jdm gx61 1g-eu. most are 9kg + with two sizes of clutch. 225mm and 236mm (gen3 1ggte). So using one of these will likely increase the flywheel weight from a factory 3tgte 8kg fly.. I've never had to space the starter using the 1g fly, as stated earlier in this thread.
Also the oem 3tgte clutch pressure plate has a higher clamping force than those found on 18r hilux or most other 225mm clutch. (stated on trd parts website) so when buying aftermarket, an aftermarket 30% uprated hilux clutch is likely no improvement over factory.

My 1G flywheel is a custom billet item so maybe they made them different from OEM - OR I am running a T50 'box & bellhousing so maybe the starter mounting on the bellhousing is different on a 3TGTE using W5 'box?
Very nice information, thank you very munch.
I said for MA61 AFM, two different model P-type or L-type. In France , I drove L-type MA61 and my AFM is dead, I had P-type AFM in my car parts stock and my car doesn't start, I found L-type AFM and my engine start.
What kind of MA61 AFM do you use?
With 3TGTE pressure clutch is possible to use 2TG flywheel?
not sure. but same position starter between 2t and 3t. not required to change the backing plate when changing bellhousing etc, unless it's the old celica type with the funny little starter.
Ritch:
L-type / P-type... it's the 5mge engine in particular. as the mk2 supra came with 1g-eu, 1g-ge and possibly other engines I'm not sure if those AFM are the same. what's the chance you fitted a bad AFM to your L-type?
The afm i'm using is a jdm L-type 5mge ma61. i'll get the part number if you wish?
2tg and 3tgte clutch are different size. so NO, cannot use 225mm 3tgte pressure plate on 200mm 2tg flywheel.
can maybe find a heavy duty 200mm pressure plate (4age?) and use a 200mm clutch plate with w55 21-spline. this can be sourced from a KM36 5k G52 liteace i believe.
Or, it is possible to skim and redrill a 2tg flywheel to accept a 225mm 3tgte clutch.

yes a jdm ta64 celica GT-TS 4tgte. but only 200 or so were ever produced.
that's what toyodiy says anyway.
