Ridgecrest make head gaskets to order in Australia. I had my 18rg one made by them. Relatively cheap ~ $150 delivered. You really need to oring to use a copper one.

Sorry to get off topic, but does anyone have a usable base map for the 3TGTE?

    Radar,

What computer are we talking about? I can give you an ignition map, but swapping the fuel map between computer is not straight forward. VE fuel maps as opposed to inector opening time maps maybe more swapable.

    PM me your email address

If I have the IGN and VE maps it should be good enough to just get it running.
From what I can read there is an AUTOTUNE setting on the ECU that is pretty good.
So as long as I can just get it sitting there idling away nicely, then I'll take it from there and get a proper tune.

guys, am not keen on o-ringing just to run a copper head gasket.

turbotoy's link has the 2TG gaskets, but for that price I can get one custom made locally (i think).
That place also has conrods for $1900 !! ?? it says they're lightweight, but that's some pretty expensive conrods.
Also has thickness from 0.8mm to 3mm, what is recommended or required for the 3TGTE?

    Steeko,

How much boost do you want to put into this thing ? Copper head gaskets need the o-ringing to be at there best. So if your not going there, don't get one.

The 2T-C MLS gasket mentioned further up seems to be the best value performance Gasket around. The head bolts only pull down the head to the deck, not the timing cover area, its pulled down by the two studs at the front and the lower timing cover itself is not part of the block. As such you can do as 3J suggested or just run a stock HG.

toyman - boost will be low. Thing will be babied until it gets other stuff like: bigger turbo, computer, injectors, intercooler. So for now it will be very babied. But I want it kinda solid and 'future proof'.

Have ordered the cometic from BRD with the pistons but still keen on finding a complete MLS HG for a 3TGTE.

2tgeu and 3tgte have same gasket size (thickness maybe not?). so yea if you can source a MLS 2tgeu gasket then sweet.
the ACL gasket will be your usual composite type though

I agree copper may not be the best option. I personally don't like the MLS gaskets. If you do use one make sure the machining for the deck is good. (no grooves)

What HG are you using turbotoy? what brand and material?

I read the stock head gasket doesn't last a long time because of it's material.

I am using copper with oring. It was a *itch to seal. You should be fine with MLS a lot of people use them you really have to be careful about the machined surface. (no groves if possible) MLS head gaskets require surface finishes of 30 RA (Roughness Average) or finer.

just putting this out there, I need a passenger side engine mount for TA63 with 3TGTE, not sure what it's interchangeable with. I'm told I can't just use any engine mount it has to be specific.
Will replace both if I can find some.

I had to use a money transfer also. Which cost a few dollars, also watch customs, seperate packages may be a good thing.

Engine mounts could be the same as t18, mackay rubber has these avaliable new.

as i found out that the passenger side one is different becaus the turbo is on the passenger side and therefore the mount has to have clearance for that and the oil drain etc.

You could cut all the crap out of it and use that liquid urethane stuff.
