More then 2.5psi. I have got an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Should I adjust it to 3 or 3.5

Probably wouldn't be going any more than 3.5 psi as weber carbs do not like higher pressure like the holley carbs do...
Wait??
You got a 3TGTE you say???
Best you get a regulator which isn't a carby regulator and make sure you have 25+ psi in that their fuel rail!

Jason

Delano are you sure you are not getting confused with Bar. 2.5 Bar = 36 psi which would certainly run an EFI engine providing everything else is setup correctly.
2.5psi or 3.5psi is just not going work.
Sorry guys it is on 2.5 bar not psi,

What is the compression like in each cylinder dry and wet?
Did you set the cams up so that the cut-outs face up and the cam lobes face away from each other when cylinder 1 is at top dead center on the compression stroke?
Hope you didn't bend any valves in the process.

2T-G - Half the valves but twice the fun.
Yeah i probably shoukd have confirmed that myself but I was just assuming you meant bar not psi.... If its running under its own power (not just from the starter motor) while the key is in the start position but stalling when you go back to on then to me it sounds like you have wired something up wrong, possibly the supply voltage to coils or ignition module?
Will do a pressure test on weekend and let you guys know. I checked the coil pack wiring is set up correct. Will also check the the ignition wires.
Thanks alot guys for the info
Much appreciated
Damn also hope I didnt bent valves
being an aftermarket ecu makes things harder for others to diagnose without knowing the exact setup.
have you checked the fuel pump stays running after you have finished cranking?
how is the fuel pump powered? via a circuit open relay by chance?
Is the cold start injector system still there and connected to the cold start timer (brown plug on thermostat)? that alone can supply enough fuel to get it firing upon cranking the engine.
I can only assume you know that changing the base fuel pressure will affect the whole fuel map of the programmable ecu. You'd have to retune the ecu to suit the different fuel pressure. most efi systems run approx 40-43psi base pressure.

Hey guys,
I'm on the hunt for a 3tgte oil pump drive or dummy distributor -whatever they are called!
PM me if you have one you would part with.
Cheers,
Jason

what aftermarket forged pistons and conrods are people using in there 3tgte? also ive replaced my exhaust gasket 3 times within the last 4 months and it keeps on leaking out after a while. any ideas why it could be doing this? ive had the manifold re-faced so its flat but still leaks.????

We'll I'm running Arias pistols (8.5:1 comp from memory) with a set of forged Crower rods. Or at least I will be if I ever finish the build. I'll upload a pick if I can work out how to do it. They all looked so good that it pained me to hide them away in the belly of the beast.
As for the ex gasket, had the same issue with my old setup but had the manifold (custom) faced and no longer had the problem. Is it happening on the same area of the gasket each time? It may be that the port faces on the head are no longer flat. It is alloy afterall. I'd be getting a straight edge on them and checking for gaps/warps.
Real love is a xA65 - if you haven't owned one, don't worry, i'll love them for you
