    Hey guys,

    Did a bit of searching and it came up with a couple of confusing threads;
    http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...flywheel+bolts
    http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...flywheel+bolts

I'm trying to find some (flywheel to crank) bolts for a 3T-GTE and W58 setup. I have called around a few places and no one can give me any info. I also tried getting info about 2T setup (assuming they run the same bolt pattern, and I got 3 different prices/specs for the flywheel to crank bolts!

Can someone who has purchased these bolts new give me some insight as to what I'm actually looking for? I am yet to try Castle Hill Toyota.

Are these bolts interchangeable with other T-series engines (released in Australia)? Does anyone have part numbers?

Also, I need bolts for the bell-housing to block, and clutch to pressure-plate

    Thanks in advance!

I'm fairly sure 4age bolts are fine... If not just take the orig ones to a clutch place they'll help ya out.
Why do you need to change them why not just use the ones that came off the motor? I asked a clutch and brake place they said it was fine to reuse.

I might think about re-using used ones, though the package didn't come with flywheel bolts

I really need some part numbers if anyone has them written down?

    Thanks for your help Radar!

    Radar,

Your clutch and brake man is a dodgy MoFo ! Flywheel bolts are one of the most commonly overstretched bolts in any engine. Like head bolts they are designed for single use only. A stretched bolt is weak and destined to fail. With that failure comes collateral damage, Pretty stupid move for $40 worth of bolts.

    Al,

ARP do a set you can use (I dont have the part number handy)

In genuine Toyota Bolts the 2T ran a Grade 8 Bolt while for turbo use they had a grade 11.

The bellhousing bolts are the same as the stock ones that mate the T50 to the 2T.

So can the 4AG bolts be used even though they aren't made for a turbo engine? They are subject to high revs so I'm guessing they are better than the 2T bolts!

    Thanks Rod!

    Toyman,

Cheers for confirming what I thought in the first place.
I asked the guy about stretching and he said not to worry about it? He mainly does nissan so this may be why?
I have a lightened flywheel and I thought they were most likely type of flywheel to stretch or sheer bolts?
Your right though, for the sake of $40 you'd be crazy to re-use old bolts.

ive always reused 3tgt flywheel bolts. never had a problem. thrash the crap outa the car since its a drift hack. they're not torque-to-yeild bolts. in saying this the engines are pretty stock and if i'd built a high power $$$ engine i wouldn't be skimping.

toyota lists denso W20EXR-U11 plugs for the 3tgte.

3tgte flywheel bolt part number according to the following link.
    90105-10030
    http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_198...EMQZ_1301.html

toyodiy has this for a 1ggte gx71 flywheel bolts, same spec for 1gge and 1geu
    90105-10042 2YPU, 3YPU, 1G*..YX7*, GX71..MTM; *10-1.25PX26-18
    http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_198...TMZZ_1301.html

and interestingly.. gz11 1geu soarer, same bolts as M series.
    90105-10042 1G*, 5MGEU, 6MGEU..GZ10, MZ11, 12..MTM; *10-1.25PX26-18

    90105-10042 1G*, 7MGTEU..GA70, MA70..MTM; *10-1.25PX26-18

which leads to looking at a *t14# corona with many engine options.. and look what engines are listed for these bolts
    90105-10042 3TEU, 12TJ, 3AU, 2YPU..TT14*, AT140, YT140..MTM; *10-1.25PX26-18

so why are 3tgte listed as 10030 and not 10042? are they rated better? even though the 10042 are used on 1ggte and 7mgte.

4age on the other hand have a different part number.. and visually looking at them you'll see why. smaller head for a start.
    90105-10076 4AGE..AE92..MTM

from personal experience. most of the later 1geu, 1gge flywheel weigh around 9kg. you can tell these ones by the lip that sits out similar diameter as the ring gear. 3tgte don't have this lip. the only 1g flywheel type ive seen so far same as 3tgte (8kg ish) was a jdm gx61 1geu flywheel. identical in all ways. 225mm clutch.
all 2tg/2tgeu dohc i've bought had a 200mm clutch. earlier models are heavier.
3tgte has lightest flywheel of all the T series, and largest clutch.

Champion. Thanks for the info, +rep and much appreciated!

I wonder how much the strengths differ between the 3 bolts above (3T, 1G, 4A)?

Does anyone know for sure what the differences are?

Ok million dollar question... Can I run 1ZZ COP side by side? I'm going down to sprints tomorrow to buy two to test it out but I thought I'd ask first

Bah they want $120 ea coil-on-plug!
So now I'm asking the question, HOW do I setup the ECU so I can still use the STD twinspark dizzy?
    Sig 1 to coil 1 for 1a 2a 3a 4a and Sig 2 for coil 2 for 1b 2b 3b 4b?

Not answering your question, but why use 1ZZ COP's?
Do you know for a fact they produce a strong spark than standard or upgraded coils?
Will they actually be enough to fire a high boost mixture?

It seems a lot of people "upgrade" to COP's on turbo applications, but dont consider if they will actually give a stronger spark.

Honestly... I actually didn't even give that any thought, was just going for neatness factor.
Which I guess means squat if they dont work right.
I'm going to scrap the COP idea and just stick to coil and lead.

I'm still curious to know, is it possible to setup an ecu so it can still use the std twincoil dizzy for twinspark?

    Radar,

Just go for wasted spark, use something like 2 x hyundai coil packs and mitisbishi j121 ignitors. Cheap easy and you have the CAS to fire it already.
