    sorry im a wiring noob
don't unplug the sensor when measuring at the microtech. Unplug the sensor to measure directly at the sensor

I have a Bosch/Delco one in mine. (not sure on the manufacturer of it)
    From a Delco powered Camira.

As for do I use it?
I think if the airtemp gets above about 80degC, then I added 5% fuel and pulled out 2-3deg of timing, just as a safety measure.

i use the factory 1j air temp sensor which is in the plenum.

you will need it to work properly or your mixtures will be crap and it will run like a pig.

i dont use the idle air control valve, its blocked off on mine.

my car cold starts perfectly even with 1000cc injectors. it all about your tuners ability.

i know you said donnan tuned it before and you reckon it wasnt good. you have to remember it was probably tuned for a different setup to yours.

donnan is a gun tuner and his results show in both his soarer and his turbo ls1.

as far as microtechs go though, i dont think you can go past my guy, but it depends on your budget etc and what results you want.

    good luck my friend

cold start is actually pretty damn good on this tune...after I put new plugs in

    so im happy with that...

Steve at Jazmac is one of the most highly regarded Microleb tuners in SA and he has done a few 1J's too which is a bonus...

I wont use donnon for personal reasons which I dont feel necessary to put over a public forum

and I would love to use the guy you do but unfortunately im all the way in SA and ive never really been too keen on letting someone work on my car who is a 2 day trip to go and see if something fucks up

edit: and I picked up a camira air temp sensor and plug for $10 yesterday so ill whack that in tonight

I thought the same thing. Can't expect a tune on another engine to work on your own even if they are very similar setups. There will always be tweaking required.

I am getting a guys wolf map that runs gt30r, 23psi, 550s, fmic so I could use that to start off with (as long as it looks safe) and then adjust to suit my extra 1000rpm lag
