PM ed. pretty sure he used GTR ITBs, possibly on his 2jz-ge?
Just curious if anyone here has done a setup before? I found a current worklog of a guy using M3 TB's and a 7M head with a 5MGE block. Anyone here done something similar with good results?

he sold that before he used it... though seeing all the interest in my gtr throttles i had for sale, i can safely say that people are considering itb's again.
That said, i have a few more sets of gtr throttles coming from japan.
I've sent him a msg about some other stuff already, when he replies I'll ask. CheersOriginally Posted by Draven

GT has an ITB setup on his 2JZGE. There are photos of it out there if you search hard enough.

looks like silvertop throttles with an extra 2 chucked in, should go reasonable well but probly better on a jz series engine.
cheers

All I can find at the moment is this one - please revel in the detail....![]()
It's pretty easy to setup if you can weld aluminium. Get a plate and get the DCOE pattern milled into it or you can buy pre cut DCOE flanges from Speed Tech. Use the bottom half of the intake manifold, cut it at whatever length where runners 3 and 4 are roughly at DCOE spacing. Then you cut, swap and shut the runners for 1 and 6 and 2 and 5. Leave 3 and 4 alone. Weld the plate to the runners. Then die grind the runners smooth. I did this for my 2JZ ITB setup (although I paid for someone to do the welding - I can't weld).
A lot of the Jap setups run 20V throttle bodies. Seen a couple ITB setups on 1/2JZGEs and they all run 20V throttles.
Thanks GT, been helpfulSo shouldn't have a problem with running 20V throttles on the 7M? Only difference is the flange?
Endless, that was actually the first page I found aswell, great pics![]()
I'd probably use blacktop ITBs - slightly bigger (45mm) than silver top ones (43mm) but for an otherwise stock 7M either should be fine. You'll have to do a small amount of fucking around with the linkages to get the next pair to work but all doable.
Glen (RA45Celica) made some ITB castings based on the 20V ones. He has taken them out as far as 50mm and could probably go to 52mm so you know you could upsize at a later stage depending on what work you did to the motor.
Oh, i so want more pics of that!Originally Posted by gianttomato

The 7MGE ones I believe are stock 60mm and that's just one so I'm sure 6x 43mm would still be plenty for what I need
Would be nice to do a project like this in the future because I just love the sound of an good ITB setup
