ohh thanks dudes...So just confirm because i cant see from picture..Does the intercooler pipe on the turbo side go under and up through the stock intercooler piping hole? As in no holes cut.

easiest way is to mod the end tanks if you want the pipes to run in the factory jzx81 route. You can also fit a much thicker core if you use the jzx81 aircon condenser and lines.

I used a KKR cooler and chopped the end tanks off to make new ones on my latest cressida:

I scalloped the caster rod brackets to clear the larger pipework this time around. 2.75" throttle side, 2.5" turbo side.

Didn't have to cut up the body at all.

not sure that its 100% nessesary to do that. im doing a 'no holes' aproach for mine, even using 2.5" on the hot side and 2.75" on the cold side the same as you and mine fits without modification threw the gap.

im running a normal style HKS front mount, i haven't yet got it all done but ive dummied it up and it will be a-okay. thanks for posting pics none the less.

when I had my GX81, it had 2.5" pipework either side in the stock location and the brackets didn't need scalloping. With this mx83 I didn't want any pipework rubbing or knocking on any part of the car, the clearance in the gap between the radiator support/chassis rail and radius bracket is very small with 2.75" tube so I decided to give it some more space.

i just purchased an evo 8 intercooler with piping and im going the factory jzx81 route. Ive heard these coolers are quite good and handle some good power.
so ill post up some pictures once done as well.

duely noted, im going to pad up mine (factory ones would have been too?) to prevent any noise or wear. if you went to that much effort... 3"? or would need significantly more work?

3" would fit with a little more scalloping. I used 2.75 as that's the size of my throttle, so make the outlet on the end tank 2.75 also.

With regard to the evo cooler, I'm 90% sure the ARE cooler I had on my GX81 was originally an EVO fitment cooler. When it was fitted to the x81, one end tank was modified to make for cleaner/shorter pipework. Here's a pic: http://www.purcellperformance.com/uploads/Chasa12.JPG

i just trialed fitted the evo 8 cooler..i can use the stock jzx81 piping. It will pretty much bolt straight up.
The turbo side will need some fabrication

I know this may sound silly but do you guys rekon i can use the stock intercooler piping? Will it be ok?

Just to add, im aiming for 250kw at the wheels max

the plastic bits that go through the gap in the chassis might be a bit restrictive.
