Check www.summitracing.com and search for part number "765016". This insert will require a spacer at the bottom of the strut tube, but that's not hard to get made. It will also keep your shock in its optimal range with lowered springs, and should negate the requirement of keeper springs to keep your springs captive on full droop.

EDIT: for suitable rear shocks, look at the same site for part number "743019". Both of these are KYB AGX adjustables. For the front, SW20 rear shocks are used, and for the rear, Camaro rear shocks are used.

Also check www.TechnoToyTuning.com for weld on coilover kits. Could find yourself saving quite a bit of dough if you send all your gear to that bloke and get him to put it together for you.

    quick questionnn

just showed dad these parts i got today and he specifically looked at the space between the caliper mount holes where you bolt it onto the strut and said that you shouldnt have spacers inbetween there as the surface on the strut is not parrarllel to the surface of the disc. Saying that just using washers on surfaces that are not flat will not align the calliper correctly with the rotor causing uneven wear.

I read the thread and saw that shelldrake had infact got it milled down so it is parallel to the surface of the disc allowing him to fit a flat spacer in there. Now my question is, has everybody had to do this? is it important? or is there another option?

also if i am fitting this combination to a ta22, if i was to not use coilovers, what would i have to use to get this setup in there.? Like what coils and shockers etc?

sorry for the slab of questions i just feel it has not properly been covered in thread!

    thanks!

    Hi,

I am getting it milled down and a piece of Aluminium plate made up to space the MX62 caliper. A decent machinist should be able to do that for around $150 for both sides. Considering it's the caliper mount I say $150 is pretty good insurance for your life. You don't want your brakes to fail right when you really need to stop! Also, if you just use washers and the caliper is not aligned parallel with the disc uneven pad wear will occur, so you will forever be replacing unevenly worn pads.

    Ta, JB

true, i was going to get mine machined down but decided not to with a lot of washers and a dial indicator you can get the caliper parallel to the rotor....

Quick question... has anyone tried to use the mx62 hub and rotor on the xt130 strut?
may sound silly but perhaps with toyota it may work.

would the mx62 rotor fit on the ra60 or the xt130 hub.

basically i have mx62 struts completely rebuilt and have massive camber issues due to the king pin.
kinda hoping that everything will go together reducing the cost of sorting out my camber issues.

I went to buy a pair of XT130 struts from a wrecker and he had a set which are marked XT132 or could they be RT132 struts, I can't find any reference to XT132 parts anywhere in parts catalogues etc. Will these, if they are RT132 struts, work for this conversion. The car they came from is not available so can't check exact model.

i think they will.. but keep in mind that it is sat morning... im not sure but i think they will give you a little extra camber but apart from that they should be close enough to work..

There is no difference between XT130 and RT132 Struts, both will work, it's just the hubs are about 5mm thicker on the RT132 but again this has no effect on any of the brake conversions as the disc bolts to the rear of the hubs.

I have already quashed that little myth of the thicker hubs. Takai agreed and said he'd mod that post in the c/p/h thread, but I guess he hasn't yet.

    Ah, no worries.

    ToyTA22, disregard hub thickness comments.

I know this threads getting a bit old but is still lot of good info.
Has anyone tried using the standard spring seat on the RT132 strut for a TA22.
I made a lot of measurements today and there is little difference between the spring seats.
Differences I found : Lowest point of actual spring seat, where end of spring sits, is 6mm higher than TA22.
Outer diameter of RT132 seat is 10mm bigger, which would be advantage to me cause currently TA22 spring catches on the outer beveled edge.
The good thing I found is lower area of spring seat, where last coil sits is same diameter as TA22.
Unluckily I don't have a spare standard spring and strut, I f I did could check even more accurately.

I know this thread is getting old, but still usefull.
I saw technical designers/ consultants at King Springs Gold coast last week and he showed and told me the TA22 spring sits into lower seat no problem. Only thing is seat on corona strut is 5mm higher, which won't bother me since I want it standard or raised slightly due to use of celica.

Can confirm that the ta22 spring fits fine on the xt130 strut - this is the setup I run
