If those 1ZZ coils are the same as the 1AZ and 1NZ I tried then they would have had to trim down the coil pack to fit it down the spark plug tube. Its only about 1mm in diameter larger than the 20V tube so they could in reality be modified to fit. Maybe the 1ZZ is slightly thinner than the others but I done have any to check.

Sorry JP couldnt wait for you.
I managed to find a number for Kaizen Garage and Anthony there tells me that the coil packs are the same as the others and he had to trim them down to fit them down the 20V spark plug tubes. This is what i suspected. Anthony also mentioned that he has used these on the 16V heads as well with great success. I will look at using the 1NZ coils I have and see what I can do with them.

Yes they all seem to be similar the only real difference being that some have the plugs up on an angle (1AZ,1ZZ) while others (1NZ,2NZ) have the plug sitting flat. Maybe I can still get the NZ coils to sit under the 20V top cover?

    Some part numbers I found.

    1NZ and 2NZ - 90919-02240
    1AZ - 90919-02243 and 90919-02247
    2AZ - 90919-02244

I dont have a 1ZZ coil pack to check the number.

If you want seperate coils and ignitors, then the SR20DET coils fit for a 16v with a simple adaptor plate.

The 16V head is a lot easier to setup like this as it doesnt have the tubes like the 20V. There is a lot more room to use pretty much whatever coil you can get your hands on. The 20V having small tubes needs a very slim coil pack to be able to fit. I found some wasted spark coils from a Daihatsu HD that were the thinnest I could find. These fit down the tubes without modification.
