tell me 15s fit over your setup linden?!![]()
cause id be hell your bitch further down the track if they do (like im not already though)
i actually machined 8mm off the back of the hub to suit so it wont change.Originally Posted by twentyEight
im getting the brackets made out of a single 50mm thick billet and once i recieve the bill for them ill let you know what there worth.
the reason i used the r32 gtst stuff is so if the customer went out and bought 17' rims later on i could then fit brembos off a 33/34 GTR and not have to change a thing, ie machine new discs the same but the caliper will bolt straight on, fit lines and the job is done.
cheers

ps ill see if i can get someone to throw up a pick coz im retarded when it comes to pc's

So what is the final setup you are using? And are you still talking about xt130 struts?
Disc: r33gtst ground down 8mm
caliper: r32gtst with bracket to fit
So this would end up with 5 X114.3mm PCD, the larger R33 disks, 4 pot calipers and fit under 15's.
If this is the case, then I would like to grab a bracket as well as I have to get this all upgraded prior to Aug 25th. (and I am pretty slow)
Linden, if you machined 8mm off the back of the hub, then wouldn't this make the disc 8mm closer to the strut?
was thinking the same thing.Originally Posted by twentyEight
Please correct me if I'm wrong!
From what I can figure, machining 8mm off the back of the hub would sit the disc 8mm further inwards, where as having a disc that 8mm less in height would put the disc 8mm further outwards... Which I can only assume may help the caliper clear the strut ears...
So from that I have produced the following...
- R32 GTS-T disc (54mm total height) - sitting on standard hub
- R32 GTS-T disc (54mm total height) - sitting on hub that has been machined down 8mm
- Volvo S40/V40 disc (46mm total height) - sitting on standard hub
2 is incorrect. If the disc is mounted to the back of the hub, maching 8mm off the MOUNTING FACE for the disc will move the disc outwards 8mm. Ipresume it is rear mounted as if front mounted it would have no impact. Remember, the bearings/hub would stay in the same place and only disc mounting face changes.

That would be the sound of the penny dropping in my head...
What you're saying would make sense, and would make what Linden said work also...
Thanks!
I thought the XT130/RT132 discs mounted on the front of the hub though, but I'm guessing not...
Linden,
If I was to machine 5-8mm of the mounting face (rear) of the hub and use the Volvo S40/V40 disc, do you think this would allow the caliper to clear the strut ears?
Can't remember the stock one but my HQ setup on xt130 mounts to the back of the hub AFAIk.
Me going to take some photos and measurements tonight of the stuff I have done so far. I hit the brick wall, but hopefully will give others some ideas on how to/not to progress.
You guys are way more persistant than me
I'll just wait till someone smarter than me comes up with a solution

the more you machine off or lower the hat hight the more the calipers overhang th hub.Originally Posted by twentyEight
if your using 15" simmons on it only 280mm will fit, and you must use a 23 strut
if you go with 298mm discs i can do a bracket for these and they will fit in some 15"rims
ill get nath to bring a camera down and take some shots for you guys to see what ive done.
cheers

Which would make it near impossible to fit wheels on without the back of the rim hitting the caliper... Bugger!
Makes sense though... Thanks for your brain on this, it's much appreciated...
