    You'll find it probably is.
I know in WA when you buy a car you have to put ODO reading on the rego papers.

But remember, you can always swap dashes.

I'm not planning to wind it back. The first thing I'm going to do once I get it all working is to set the odometer to what it currently reads. I'm not looking for anything dodgy, just something that's going to work with the digital sender.

Of course, if I do happen to grab a factory dash with an odometer, I need to make sure it accepts the same pulse count per km as the factory speedo...

whats the go though when someone has done an engine swap? Do the KM's accrued with original engine remain the same, or does it get adjusted according to the logs from the new engine?

How about a programmable panel meter like this?

It even has inbuilt scaling so you can program it to count x number of pulses as one count increment... it also has programmable alarm outputs so you could program in things like timing belt replacement schedule or service schedule etc.

usually people leave it at the old motor reading and record number of klms to conver it, but i dunno, i was lucky enough (since my dash OD had broken) to fix it and have it roughly at the same place the motor i pulled out was at. i think it is only a couple of thou out, so i have left it at that. People really don't care if its 96'000 as aspose to 99'000 whereas 150'000 to 100'000 would be bad.
