If your not getting engine light when youve got the key at IGN then it can mean two things.
1- Globe is blown
2- Ecu is not getting power/unplugged.
I'd probably check the 2nd thing first as its probably easier. Firstly check fuses both in engine bay and drivers footwell and make sure theyre alright and if they are then move onto the ECU.
The ECU should be located on the pass side under the center console pretty much directly below the stereo and ash tray etc. If you pull away the carpet on the right of the pass footwell you should be able to see it.
If you can google and get some wiring diagrams find out which one is power and probe the plug and check for voltage when key is at IGN. If your getting voltage then check the globe and if that turns out fine then maybe its giving you an engine code which you can pull off the ocmputer by bridging T and E1 iirc with some wire in the diagnosis connector in the engine bay.
After you bridge these two put the keys in and go to IGN, the engine light will flash once or more giving you the first number of an engine code, it will then pause and continue with one or more flashes giving you the second digit. Once you get a fault code google that and it should point you in the righ direction.
