They all idle high like this. Its so they warm up quicker and its in the ecu that makes this do it. It gets a signal from the coolant temp sensor and adjusts idle accordingly.
I wouldnt worry about it as its normal.

i have an issue with my cold start, it idles at 2100rpm which isnt good for a cold motor and doesnt drop until its basically at operating temp which can take a while.
normal operating temp idle is fine its just the cold start..
i have a 4agze with a 4age bigport throttle body on it.. the only thing i can think of its to do with the funny thing that hangs off the back that gets pushed in by the throttle arm on the throttle body by some sort of adjustment similar to a throttle stop..
it makes a loud suction noise in the morning and goes away once its warm
any ideas?

its actually the wax pallet it the TB that does it, 2100 is a bit high they should only come up to 1600 or so.
my small port cold starts at 2100 rpms on average, and i've seen it go up to 2500 rpms on really cold mornings.. it gradually comes down to 900 rpms when it's warm, but even when cruising on a cooler day, and the water temp goes down (as indicated by the gauge), the idle goes up to 1500 rpms or so.. it seems normal on a 4A-GE and i'm not complaining..
if u have an idle up on the throttle body (small ports have them) and you block that vacuum line off, u'll get lower revs on cold-start and idle up..
Research has shown child in front seat causes accidents, accident in back seat causes child
I am making a few assumptions about your TB setup but like RoadRunner said its probably your wax pellet setup. When the engine is cold the wax pellet idle up lets more air in, engine coolant lines warm this up until it expands and blocks the air bypass.
I have a 4AGTE with small port manifold and TB (was a 'stock' AE101 4AGZE). The wax pellet was screwed in mine so it would idle at approx 3k until REALLY warm. I got jack of it and blocked the ports with silicon. Now I just need to use the right foot a little more in the mornings to make sure the engine is warm.

As featured in Boost Magazine - Cool huh
yeh block it off, it will idle on its own without the coldstart
cheers for the help guys! now i know what to do to fix it
if i run the two water lines into eachother rather than blocking them is that ok?
Dan.
yep
