    sorry guys but i cant see what hp has to do with balance shafts, maybe if the rev limiter has been upped from the original 5500rpm, help if im thinking wrong, at what revs do they start having this problem

    not sure as i said its just second hand/unchartered territory as noone has really dived into the high hp of a stock engine a.r.e is about the most powerful 3rz in aus but has a build lc engineering bottom end, with the rods machined out of the block. richard is about as high as ive seen a stock 3rz without someone bullshitting and saying they have 500rwhp with a t2 turbo and 5 psi.

    maybe the increaded load on everything bends them like big ends having more load on them from boost, possibly the same thing with the rods bending.

    maybe its an engine acceleration thing. more power will spin it up quicker. unless it is a problem with 3rz,s that i haven,t heard about but will check it out and let you know

    thanks, you shouldnt have a drama anyway with balanced internals, just get the removed.

    The 2rz does NOT have balance shafts.

    BTW, I put a hole in piston number 2 last night racing. Just before that, we pulled off the dyno at 394hp and ~385 tq (i dont remeber exactly). I SOOOO wanted to hit 400hp!!!!

    haha so close and bad luck, but these things happen with standard hardware, time for forgies and 600 hp ...

    well thats good to know that the 2rz doesnt have the balance rods.

    what is your peak timing advance, what compression is the engine running and what rpm are you making 394rwhp at?

    so whats the target?, just cant resist a challenge. 400rw in 940kg,s could be fun

    this is what id be thinking of getting/doing to allow the 3rz to make 300rwkw reliably.

    - forgies (arias)
    - head studs
    - mild port work
    -custom intake manifold

    the maybe list is
    - balancing
    -rod bolts
    - metal head gasket. the factory one is metal, will it suffice??

    rod bolts and balancing are so cheap its not worth NOT doing it
    JZX83+ FMIC+ Twin 2.5" dumps to 3"+ FCD+ 2800rpm stallie+ 14psi - LSD - good tyres = 12.85 @105.58

    Hi, Haven,t built mine yet but i,ve asked lots of questions. they don,t like to rev so plan to keep it to 6200rpm, they like lots of air so big tbo,big exhaust,inlet, porting?.rods are the weak bit so chuck em, only 6200 so save on bal & bolts & buy rods.550cc injectors (S5 rx7 fit straight in), more fuel than you think, rods pistons rings h/gasket Hd gudgeons & bolts from from US $1690 300hp rw should be very easy but 400hp maybe a push, as for reliable??????????????

    even if u buy rod and pistons, u still should get the crank balanced, probably wont need it, but every bit counts if u plan to rev it

    i dont see why 400rwhp wouldnt be quiet achievable to be reliable with a built forged bottom end, id think 500 or even more, wouldnt be out of the question with good tuning maybe even more. But id get rods too for the little extra bit of cash to outlay at the beginning could save you some heartache especialy if you build it to rev much higher than 6000, you dont want your new engine to turn out like mine do you...
