this is my solution for the rear, i posted it in my cars thread but i thought i'd post it in here as well...

its a nothalane type 1 bush im pretty sure that has been mechined down in length so that two togeather bridge the gap between the size of the z10 suspension mount and the size of the S13 bush.

the S13 bush was left in and the rubber and inner metal bush was cut out leaving the outer metal bush.

the T-bushes were turned down so that the total lenght of both togeather was 36mm from side to side.

at the top of the strut/underneath of the chassie im running the S13 lower washer and bush, above the chassie (in the boot) im running the z10 bushes, washers and nuts... i also added a s13 top washer to space it out a bit as well (you can see thats the metal washer inbetween the top washer and bush)

Mate lookin really good.. Ill be thinkin about doing similar on the rear of my corona.. Looks good..

My S14 coilovers arrived today.. Bit of a worry though. They seem pretty short and have hardly any travel at all.. I put them up next to some stock hieght S13 AGX struts and they are taller than the S14 coilovers.. Im really not sure what im gonna do now..

How much total travel do you have in your front shock, from the top of the strut body to the bottom of the top spring hat? Also how long is the complete unit from the bottom of the top spring hat to the bottom of the strut body? Im a bit worried about this as the whole reason for getting the S14 ones was for more droop but with no shock travel it seems useless...

    Thanks,

    Chris.

ok... did some measurements while the car was on the ground so this is with my droop factored in... these are all approx. dims.

    S13 strut body length = 280mm
S13 shaft length from top of strut body to underside of camber plate = 160mm
S13 total lenght from underside of camber plate to bottom of strut body = 430mm
height from botom of top spring hat to underside of camber plate = 30mm

if the guy was helpful enough you might be able to swap your s14 struts for s13 ones if there still unused... hopefully

Jeez.. Yours are heaps longer. That doesnt make sence. S14 ones are mean to be longer.. Also you got 60mm more travel in your shock.. GAAA.. Cant stand this car modifying stuff sometimes...

    Thanks for those measurements..

    Thanks,

    chris.

    S14 Strut body length = 245mm
S14 Shaft length from top of strut body to underside of camber plate = 140mm
S14 total length from underside of camber plate to bottom of strut body = 380mm
height from bottom of top spring hat to underside of camber plate = 35mm

This is bull shit.. How can your S13 ones be longer than mine... He might have sent me S15 ones by accident.. I dono..

Just sent a questioning email to the supplier of my coilovers..

    Thanks,

    Chris.

i know the feeling, espically when i got this set up on the road... fronts to stiff, rears to soft... some playing and it was sorted...

yeah, thats concerning, 35mm shorter than s13's strut body length doesnt seam quite right.

i say msg isc and sort something out with him... maybe see if he can find you a strut that will fit the stuff you got already that you could trade for, get him on the fone and have a good chat

im just reading your conversion and considering it for the MA61.

did you ever get a bumpsteer test done?

im not sure who exactly does them but there are places out there. i doubt it would be overly expensive.

i can find out if the bumpsteer is within specs to be engineer complianced.

no, i didnt know that was possible to tell ya the truth altho im pretty sure i only have a slight bump streer at the height ive got the car atm.

if you could let me know the specs i might go and track down a place to test my gear

theres another guy doing this conversion (to his z10) with some S13 lca's as well which should (hopefully) add back to the track lost.

anyone got lenghts of S13 Lca's?

id say fulcrum could do a bumpsteer test.

they measure the toe at static height, then lift the car Xmm and remeasure toe.

you would usually get a print out of toe corresponding to various car heights. ie +30 +20 +10 0 -10 -20 -30

I sent my coilovers back for a full refund.. Lucky... My car is now for sale though so ive given up on this setup.. Ill be watching closly though...

S13 LCAs are 10mm shorter than MX62 LCAs from memory.. So using them will give the same problem i had (too much front track and exsecive bump steer).. Your set up is the best so far that ive seen.. Just need a LCA about 20 - 30mm longer than yours and it would be perfect i recon.. Someone try AE86 or KE70 LCAs in an MA61 or corona seeing as i wont be doing that now.. I recon that would be spot on..

    Keep us posted..

    Thanks,

    Chris.

ah, thats a shame you gave up, but very cool that you got a full refund, they must be very understanding!

ive had this pic for a while and im wondering jsut where the z10 lca fits in?
im pretty sure its on the shorter side of the gx81 arm.

    heres my wheel alignment results.
the front camber is maxed out at thoes measurements, i was told it couldnt be done any futher.

    *additional info*

jsut compiling some lenghts of lca's (if they dont seam right let me know)

    XGZ1X/MA61 - LCA length = 280mm
    MX62 - LCA length = 360mm
    S13 - LCA length = 350mm
    AE86 - LCA lenght = 310mm
    KE70 - LCA length = 310mm

if anyones got anyother lenghts please provide... it seams like the ae86 will give you the lost track back + 30 to 40 extra mils.

    *edit* - ke70 lca update

id try some longer lower arms, ive just made up some MX61 arms in mine, but ive shortened them so they are 20mm longer than the Mz11 arms.

im trying to keep this as boltin as possible... a drill is easy but cut and shut would take away from the point of the conversion. i think ae86 would be the winner there.

***not totall sure on the accuracy of these measurements so check before you do this***

    mz11 lca = 280mm
    ae86 lca = 310mm

mz11 hub gear = 110mm from front mounting face to center of strut.
    S13 hub gear = 100mm from " " " " (maybe less)

280 (mz11 lca) - 10 (the diff in hubs) = 270mm (der!) converted to 310mm (ae86 lca) = 10mm tack back + 30mm extra track each side. and if my cals. are right thats -1deg./extra 10mm so a max of -4deg. maybe?

but 30mm increase in track is a huge amount per side so some thing slightly shorter would be great... say 300mm lca's would be great!
