Heres a question... what rating are 18R-GEU injectors?? And what up-rated injectors fit?? I am thinking 7M-GTE injectors, as they are designed for a .5L/cyl forced induction engine... which is what I am building![]()
I didn't have the plunger modified, I had new ones custom made.

oman when i was building such an engine i went for a sard single spray low impedence 720cc top feed injectors sard, there was a catalogue page posted up some time ago.
i dont think 7mgte 440cc inject's will be appropriate as they are not of a single spray pattern as that engine is multivalve, in the rg these will just spray the walls around the valve
720cc is well overkill for what I want... I am only after ~200hp, just want good torque in the mid range really. 440cc sounds about right... they are about the same size as stock 3S-GTE items.
Can anyone confirm/deny SillyCarS theory that 7M injectors will just be spraying on the port walls in an RG?? I have a feeling that at higher RPM this will be less of a problem, but may be an issue at low RPM.

Took a bit of a search through there... but yeah, I see your point, thanks.
There was mention of using 3T-GTE injectors... does anyone know the flow of those injectors??

Hi Guys,
Rick @ ToyHead Auto just got approved as a dealer for this company that sells high performance parts for 18RG motors in Japan. Check them out:

Ren.
Nice work informing us Ren... pity that gear is a bit exxy, and out of my current price range (although a set of 2200cc Forged pistons and a 3mm head gasket would be nice)
Cheers, Owen

Thats all stuff from Kameari engine works in Japan, I was going to try get a set of cam gears direct off them. Will have to check my prices again and see whether its better for me to get them from Kameari or Toyhead.
that 18RG flywheel looks a little like the 2TG one I haveThey are heaps of fun!
EDIT: Just noticed the 2TG section...![]()

Well from toyota, they no longer maker the curved slipper for the 18rg and it is not available even ex japan. Even So I did manage to get the tensioner with the button head from them and I do have a new slipper with the rubber concave back. It seems to be the shorter of the two types available. I am going to have a go at mating these 2 up, it may involve a little straightening to make the plunger contact properly. Either that or I will be trying the recoated slipper made out of ebonite, the worst it can do is be a little noisy and possibly wear the chain out sooner but if checked regularly for wear it should be OK.
Since I am fitting a new top chain that has a breakable link it should be easy to replace the chain should it wear out sooner.
Cheers Dave

quick question all, would the bottom end gaskets of a 18rc ie. sump, and rear main seal be the same for the rg??
