Silly question. I've lost my green bible. What are the bolt torque setting for the clutch cover? Thanks.
No, its not running anymore. I took the head off, to check the timing marks on the shaft for the dizzy, as i thought maybe it was a tooth out.
It wasn't, so i cleaned the water galleries as 3 were blocked and now about to put it back together this weekend.
Then i'll recheck the harness...AGAIN. AND give it another start.

Hi guys,
I've got a small leak at the front oval shaped inspection cover on my 18RG, can you get replacement cork gaskets for this? I've looked online at a few different places but have had no luck.
I do have a spare cover as well as a spare used gasket but I'm reluctant to put the used gasket on. Also, is a sealant necessary? I cant remember what exactly we used, but we did put sealant on when this leak popped up the first time but still it remains. I could not find any torque settings in the green bible for the bolts that hold the cover on and I really don't want to snap a bolt head off in my new engine.
Any thoughts?
No known front inspection cover gaskets or other cork 18rg gaskets available to buy through my research. The ACL engine gasket kits don't even supply these days
I can suggest you by a small roll of cork gasket (available thickness varies) from either Supercheap or Repco. It is not expensive.

there are 2 types of inspections gaskets.
The GEU type, oval 2 x bolt holes and the other being square type 4 x bolt holes.
i may have a new one hiding u can have. As i did get it in a full gasket kit ages ago.
not sure which one i have though as i have 2 heads...

Thanks, guys. I thought it may come down to making a gasket myself - I've never done that before, although I don't imagine it to be difficult, are there any tricks to it?
Just checked pics in my build thread and it is an oval-ish shaped cover with 4 bolts.
What sort of sealant should I be using, if any at all?!
check back 1-2 pages here. pg 262.
i asked a similar question and the boys came out firing with heaps of options on gasket sealants.
