I have asked Paradise Racing about a set, maybe a few sets may bring down the price? I am after 92mm and 8.5 CR though but probably doesn't matter if your specs are different.
I have low compression pistons in my 18R-G; the dyno gave me 115HP. For my winter project, I'm thinking of bumping up the compression ratio. A street machine that I want to be easy going but with a "bit more punch" what is the recommend compression ratio to run on premium pump gas? The ignition is already solid state, and the cams 280, carbs are 40mm ADDHE Solix. Exhaust is 2 1/2" back from the stock manifold (probably no room for headers unless I have a shop make custom). Any other recommendatons? Thanks in advance!

I looked into this, not worth it. If you buy the sets individually, you don't pay import duties or GST, which will save you about AU$125 or so. Can't get that much off the price of the pistons or freight, so not worth a group buy.
In short, buying multiple at once will cost you more than buying one set at a time.

Hey guys after a short break from the 18RGEU we're back into it.
I borrowed a bore mic and yesterday we measured the piston clearances. All were within the tolerances in the green book so it looks like its just a quick hone and some new rings and bearings...
When we took the sump off there were little blue snakes of permatex in the mesh pickup screen so I'm betting that the oil galleries are full of the shit too. On top of that the big end bearings on 3 and 4 were shot while 1 and 2 were fine so its almost 100% that theres permatex restricting oil supply somewhere.
beware with the bore tolerances, the last rg i built was just in within the bore specs so i did a hone and new rings, low and behold start up and the bastard is breathing threw the the vents..
cheers sam.
Turbo flutter. : Its like a burp and a hiccup at the same time.
Have a look in your chain tensioners for permatex worms.
My brother had a worm get into his bottom chain tensioner and kill it (no oil pressure to the tensioner)

Sagluren - on startup of a fresh hone and set of rings, it isn't uncommon to be breathing a bit through the vent. About 100km of moderate driving followed by an oil change should sort this out. If it hasn't gone away by then, you have a reasonable chance that it won't go away. Basically on first startup and the first little bit of driving the rings haven't seated, and so the gasses are easily bypassing them.

Anyone know off the top of their head, Is it possible to get the Pistons & Rods out without removing the crank?

Without removing the crank is easy. Without removing the head is impossible... the pistons won't come out the bottom.

Hmm... that's a bit extreme... I removed fuel and increased boost, but the pistons still stayed in their holes (though not in one piece)
