I think they may be Hosking... I believe they were single. Precision springs do double valve spring kits for early RGs... not sure the specs, didnt think to get them when I had the springs ordered.

well this is what i got when i pulled the no 4 inlet valve out

and the ports on this head are alot bigger than the ones on my 253 head so i suspect some head work has been done in the past

My CT26 makes up for my Ghey 8.3 pistons (and the fact that they are .5mm o/s genuine Toyota items)

the acid tank you have at work, what kinda acid is it using? is it something like sulphuric acid (diluted) or is it something much more gentle like coke or even molassas?

not too sure rad never thought of that but will ask. at work we class that tank as cast iron so all our rods and cast iron heads go in there it brings the heads up nice if you leave it over night and for the pistons i put them in the alloy bath for 5 mins and scrubbed them them and soaked them in the kero for a couple of hours

cheers, would like to know what they use to clean parts up at those places,

as for the workshop manual, i have one of the green books which is immensly helpful, pretty sure you can get them off ebay for $30ish

EDIT: Woot... i got something right (Ebay link) This is the "RARE" type... don't believe me? well it's the only one on ebay at the moment... can't get rarer then that!
