Oops, I forgot we require login at 1stgen.

Valve seals - Engine Builder Products Enginetech Engine Kits Engine Parts Engine Rebuild (Hi-temp viton valve seal, 11/32" stem .582 Guides , Part # S9210-20)

For those interested the previous link is a list of 18RG parts sources I compiled. Many you know, but there are a few surprises. Bollox on 1stgen has many contacts no one else has heard of as well.

No luck on the valves, SI industries are out of stock for about 3 months.

I will keep trying and register on 1stgen to see what is there. Thanks

    guys, a question on 18rgeu's.
I have a full efi set-up, with surge tank, lift pump, filter, Raising fuel pressure gauge.
My question is, once the engine is off, should the fuel pressure stay up.
i have it at 45psi, so far. but when ignition is of it drops to zero.
i have no fuel leaks anywhere. What could it be?
could it be a faulty fuel pressure guage. It does all the right things, like increase and decrease fuel when adjusted.

Do you have a check valve after the fuel pump?

The fuel pressure should drop to zero when you stop the motor. There is nothing in a normal system which should hold up pressure. The high pressure pump will be an axial type which has a path for fuel to return backwards, which is why your pump should run for a couple of seconds when you turn the ignition on, to pre-charge the lines.

Also the regulator will allow some bleed-off with zero vacuum. Totally normal.

Hey guys, thanks for your assistance trying to find some valves.

As luck would have it, I was going through all my boxes and putting all my engine stuff together and found an old toyota packing envelope with a parts order/picking date 02/03/81 on it from York Toyota. Inside was a brand new set of 18RG valves still in the little brown bags and in pristine condition.

I just won lotto, also found some adjustable vernier cam gears too. Oh I love Christmas when it comes early...

Tossing this in for your amusement. The block of the 1127cc Triumph Spitfire engine was sourced from a Massey Ferguson tractor, true! The "Old Grey Fergie" was turned into a "sportscar".

It's good to hear this is normal. Thanks o__man.

Ra_28, no I don't have a check valve. I presume it's stops the fuel from flowing the other way.

I just assumed with Efi, that the pressure stays up.

With the 18rgeu I have sitting in the shed, would these carbs be suitable?

The current ones are fubar'd and IIRC the throwaway type.

It's a long way away from a rebuild but finding them on the site has me somewhat excited.

    Hi,

The current ones are fubar'd and the throw away type????

I didn't know there were throw away side draught carbs. All are pretty expensive and can cost a bit to get rebuilt, but never heard of a set that you chucked, rather than get fixed.

If you do decide to throw them. Box them up and throw them my way.

I'm no expert, I vaguely remember one model of RG had carbs that couldn't be rebuilt? If Rodger is happy to correct me then I'm happy.

I'd rather use what I have than purchase new ones. Maybe Rodger could flip a PM with a cost? I sent a PM a while back but never heard from it.

I've never known toyota to have anything throw away spec. The link you posted are basically the same carb as stock apart from being bigger.
Looking for a new toy. If you have something 18r powered let me know.
