OST display @ AutoSalon 2007

Yeah if we can do pictures as well would be awesome! Say atleast 3 photos exterior, interior and engine or whatever your best side is so to speak! For me its just exterior and engine!

I was actually thinking of MDF (painted of course) and then maybe a piece of perspective over the top. Might not be cheapest enough for some of you thou so I guess a photo frame from Red Dot works too! Thats what I had last year photo frame and rip the contents out and put my own in!

How will we stand them up? Ive been thinking of ways to do this for awhile now. Easiest way Ive thought of is piece of mdf and a hinge mounted to the back. Depends on what your using to mount the board in the 1st place thou I suppose.

And I thought Chris is it possible to get 2 prints of A3 instead of one each. Was thinking landscape one for text and one for pictures and then mount them vertically together. Would look nicer being bigger but yeah would have to mount via MDF that way Id say!

yeah i can print 2 A3 to become 1 A2 if you want.. whats MDF worth roughly?

MDF is cheap as sh!t! Depending on thickness of course but 3mm and 5mm stuff is buggar all, about $10 for a 1200x600mm piece from bunnings! I buy it all the time!

Perspex on the other hand is not so cheap but just the MDf cut out to our size required would do it. We could nail spanners, nuts and bolts around the edge for that workshop feel too! Whos donating their nuts?

Yeah I'm thinking 2 A3's on top of each other, MDF cut to size as well as MDF stand with hinge for support to stand up vertically. Should be about $10/$15 for each one I reckon depending on quality of hinge but no need for gold plated ones hehe

yeah - thats what I did for Motorvation '07 for my spec board ...
quick and cheap to knock up.

but instead of clear perspex which is expensive. just take them all the office works and get the laminated for a few dollars.. a quick staple gun to the MDF and its sorted!

Ok people I have the 1st template drawn up and ready viewing pleasure! Using my own details Ive used as much of the A3 sheet as possible and from here I will simply use my layout and copy and paste all your info in there with maybe a few tweaks here and there, nice, quick and easy which is what we want to get these out in time. I'm using my logo as a watermark feature however if any of you others would like something else (for example the OST logo would be great) then please let us know. Ive allowed 2 smaller photos on this first page so if you want them filled make sure you let me know which photo you want where.



The 2nd page will mainly be one big fook off picture of your best side and I should have some room for some more smaller ones above that will get back to you shortly and let you know what I can come up with. I would prefer all photos be landscape (widescreen) so it fits in within the dimension but if you have portrait and I can make it fit landscape I will.

Oh yeah and when you email me your details let me know what name you would like at the very top for example mine is WAYNO FX which is what I have my own plates. When I completed your spec boards I shall post for your comments! Cheers!!

im not for that idea. sorry i just dont want to associate face with car.. personal reasons. there are a lot of dickheads that go to autosalon and i dont want my car damaged/vandalised just because some dickhead recognises my photo and goes 'oh i knew that wanker in high school' and decides to be a big man in front of all his friends by scratching my paintwork etc..etc..

by the way are we looking at doing any type of barricading to keep people at a relative distance from the cars? ive looked at the metal stand with rope pricing and its enough to make you shit your daks.. we might need to look elsewhere for it.

well, there will be 9 entrants there with their cars.. then there's a buddy pass each, so thats up to 18 people hanging around the OST display.. plus me and/or John will be DJing the whole weekend keeping an eye on things.
I know Wayno doesn't wander too far from his car during the whole event.. (which made it hard for the models to believe it was "my car" last year. hahaha)
And Lauren hates any skanks getting near the MISFIT.. so she will always be close by.

So Chris - I think your car will be safe without big rope barriers around it and stuff.

Plus - when have you ever seen rope barriers in a performance workshop? makes it a bit hard to change the oil if you can't get to the car..

ps. Wayno - great job on the spec board. Looks hot, and looks professional

Well everyone knows who I am and I'm sure I have many knobs that dont like what I do haha but yeah Id be up for a photo shot (not that I have any good ones haha) and for me it would be handy if people knew who I was so they knew who to talk to about the car so to speak had that issue last year. Ill see what I can do by way of space otherwise I can encorporate it within the large photo on the 2nd page and people that dont want it dont have to it.

I think people like to wander around the cars and if we get our squarish spot then there will be cars in the middle no doubt so people will need to wade through. Only issue I saw last year was the corners of the display people love cutting corners! If I'm on a corner this year I might try to set something up otherwise we could use some drift/race/rim of sort tyres to use as the corners will definately stop people driving over them haha

Damo I'll let you pretend its your car if you let me pretend I'm the pimped out DJ!
