thanks for all the comments guys - orlando, totally agree with the aboveOriginally Posted by JustCallMeOrlando
im running a microtech, a t3\t4 hybrid with 0.63 rear (bushed not bb i know and ultimately i would love to throw a much more efficient turbo such as a gt30r on there but this is a turbo i have sitting at home that was rebuilt and never used - plus the 0.63 rear and to4 front wheel ensures at least some leaniency with efficiency on a 2 litre motor) on a steam pipe manifold (40mm id), 3 inch exhaust from turbo back, conservative timing and a 100mm core intercooler to reduce those intake temps as much as possible. Im also going to be using my knock sensor which comes standard on the gen 3 as an added safety net, and will be running 98 ron (as i do now anyway) or perhaps even shell's new 100 ron fuel (although i havent had the best reports about these) - the tuner is someone who i have seen tune some impressive cars and not just for power, for driveability also - and is renowned for microtech tuning in sydney.
will be using 550cc series 5 rx7 injectors (4) and a bosch 910 fuel pump to ensure fuel supply is at hand. Ive got a malpassi rising rate (1:2) regulator to keep those pressures adequate and a dual stage boost controller to allow stock wastegate boost on daily driving (7psi) and 11psi with the switch flicked most likely reserved for those cold nights or the track. I have also purchased a davies craig thermo to counter the additional stresses the turbo will put on the cooling system, and will be working to fit an aftermarket oil cooler in place as well for additional good measure and safety.
so as you can see from the above im quite conscious of the requirements of a high comp boosted motor, and also for the potential of it to turn into a grenade at any one hiccup of the variables in the equation lol (god forbid). My main concern was if the block will withstand these added cylinder pressures (high static comp plus boost - obviously will raise the all up compression ratio to more extreme levels than say a 8.5:1 running 15psi) - cos this thread got me paranoid
Much appreciated for the advice guys
