They aren't exactly a good engine, otherwise toyota wouldn't have binned them as quickly as they did.
Is it true you can't re-bore them and each rebuild you are up for a new block?

They binned them because it was going to be much too expensive to make them emissions compliant. They're great lil engines, and have only just THIS YEAR (like a month ago I think?) stopped making them for Lotus.

they were binned because of emmissions laws not because they are poor engines.
They seem to go fine in the back of the Lotus Elise and Exige...
You can't 'rebore' them because they are not a traditional steel block, they are alloy with thin bore walls because of the open design of the engine. You can however, resleave the bores...
