I have just had a read of what infotechplus has been saying and i can confirm that the Ultimates are exactly as he describes. I use them on my IPRA car as well, and they eat away at your rotors something shocking. Good pads though.

For drag i would be looking at a softer pad as well, maybe Advanced. Because you wont be able to warm them up and keep them warm by the time you get down the other end of the strip.
In regards to pricing, im paying $75 a set for the Ultimates from my local Repco.

Well I may have bought wrong for what the lux will be doing for the next couple of months but I hope to have the suspension done by mid year and be moving to some kind of track or down hill racing then.

On another note but still talking brakes, what have people done for the master cyclinder and back brakes? I've got a spare JZA70 master and booster but it's about the same size as the RN85 master. Only difference being different resiviors and JZA70 booster is slightly bigger. What part of the master cylinder am I measuring when I compare sizes and where can I research what sizes are available that will bolt on.

I've also got this article on a Corona Diff conversion on how to convert a Hilux diff to a disc setup. What do people think? (The photos have been removed to get the size down.)

thats the 'small' kit.. that fits under 16's (and some 15's they say, but i haven't tried)

Nice looking set of brakes but definately too big for what I want (Keeping as much as possible legal). As it's looking at the moment I'm going to see if I can get a set of 15x?? load rated rims to make it easier to fit new front and back brakes.

my whole ute is legal.. right down to the 16's.. but that said i have an SR5 which has different load ratings... why didn't you get the load rating changed when you got it engineered? (and why didn't you do the brakes first too) if you are so worried about keeping it legal?

and about the rear b rakes.. there's a guy on here that sells the brackets to install supra rears onto hilux diffs, not sure about the hand-brake setup etc though..

to be honest, i wouldn't worry, under serious braking there's not much force on the rears..

i thought you can't actually legally lower the GVM on a passenger vehicle?

That is the only thing not legal on my car, the wheels/tire combo.

If an engineer can raise the GVM on a vehicle (like the 6 wheel 2-tonners) i can't see why he couldn't lower it.

I was under the impression that a light commercial couldn't have it's load rating changed, can you PM me your engineers name and number as well thanks?

I've been pretty flat out with other stuff lately and the brakes are kind of on the back burner.
I'm not sure if Infotech is still going to do this conversion but he's been the same as me, working on more important parts of the car.

My No. 1 priority is to finish the Lux as is and get it registered. Then I'm doing the front brake conversion. So its on the list to do.
