An alternative is to open the oil cap and peer inside - if you can see anything, and you see movement while it's cranking, the belt is fine. Still a bit odd that it wouldnt start though.

So basically even with the belts gone And providing that the Timing belt isnt snapped, the car should start if the battery is charged right?

yep that is correct. Not sure on newer cars, but i know this is true for the st162.

And myne is onto something aswell, probably the easiest way no tools required way of checking the timing belt is ok, taking the oil cap and looking inside and seeing if the cams are spinning. Altho you would need two ppl to do this assuming the car is still not starting. (one to try start the car, and the other look down the oil filler hole.)

Thanks man, the Lumobile guy is on his way.... now i feel like an idiot calling him down knowing that it may be something else. Cause i have no idea why it wont start.

if it wasnt accelerating and then stalled the instant u put the clutch in, then u my friend are in trouble, cause the momentum of the vehicle would've been keeping the revs up, and the moment u put the clutch in, there was no more momentum, so the engine stalled

mmm, thats really freaking odd. belts strip and spin off, ive had that happen a couple of times on the 162 but that was from mechs overtightening and just old belts. im pretty sure that even the gen2 3s (which you have) should be able to crank without acc. belts. Howd it go?

Well the belt ate itself into the timing belt.... so its not good, im stranded at chatswood with the car. Im out of cash until this friday, my options are very limited. I cant even pay to get it towed, and its sitting in a 2hour parking zone.

It'd overheat long before it ran out of battery
If that belt is a timing belt it WOULD stop
