Glad you got it home ok. Like I said on the phone, sorry I could not help in this situation.
But I have one of my mate trying to find a towbar to fit my truck so this wont happen again.
If it feels good "DO IT" Unless it harms others.(or upsets the RTA)
Enjoy what you have To Day,cause you can't take it with you.

these engines are cool with busted timing belts, you won't damage anything inside.. yay toyota!

and changing the bet is too easy if you take the gearbox mount off as well as the others and just use a pry bar to push the engine over and you have heaps of room voila!

sorry about your crazy luck Chopin!

After all the stuff up i had, i'm glad to announce that its fully back on the road. The mechanic instead of just checking it, decided to change all the parts that were affected. It was 160 inc labor. Best of all, i was there watching him so i learnt a few things =P Although getting the timing bit is still confusing.

I wanna take my time in thanking all of you who helped me find a solution to this big problem i had. And all of you are really kind and helpful. I dont think i'd gotten too far without the kind help and advice yall gave me.

I"ll see u around in one of the cruizes!

But for now, i need to change some parts and do a bit of maintenance on it

    Cheers to all!!

Well basically said the same thing, the alternator belt snapped, got caught on one of the pulleys and that slowly made its way into the timing belt, making it skip a few teeth. The cover aparetnly is still okay, but the whole is a little bit bigger. He says its safe.

Man that would have to be the most freakishly rotten luck I have heard of! What are the odds of a broken alt belt giving you that much hassle?

Good to hear that you kept your chin up and have got it all sorted now, hope it all goes well from here on for you mate.

Well bad things happen all the time, and im like but what do you do? sitting there with a big look on my face. But since i have nice friends like you lot, it just puts a big on my face everyday!!.... And later on when bigger stuff happens, and i'll be and ... but each time it happens i learn a little bit more... so one day when the same thing happens, i can just and fix it up and enjoy the on my face as i drive away and no more to pay
