Why are Signature Images diabled?

i've had to PM a few people over the ages about signature lengths... typically i ask nicely that they reduce it to 5 lines of normal as per the signature rules displayed when you edit your signature.
I then add that if they dont fix it in the next couple of days, i will unfortunately have to fix it for them so as to keep the forum clean and well maintained.

Most have fixed it with a nice thank you PM... others have ignored me, and one person cried like Nancy Kerrigan. These latter people got the "remove signature" button.

The latest version of vB has an infraction system that looks pretty good. Kinda like losing points on your licence before you get a temporary banning.
You can also be given warnings.

i tried to conjur an ASCII picture style signature (with in the 5 line limits of course) still it didnt work out as well as i hoped.

Yep, works a treat too..

I have sent up the User Infraction system on the Cressida forums also... seems to be working well...

The person who gives the infraction has to explain WHY and the Admin can set up the type of penalty etc...

The various infractions can be given points Eg,
Spamming - 2 points
Posting Porn - 10 points
Abusive Posts - 5 points etc etc

Then you set up the limits of say
10 points - 1 day ban,
20 Points - 7 day ban
30 points - 1 month ban etc

You can also set how long each of the infractions stays against the users name - eg, Abuse = 7 days
Spamming = 30 days
Porn = 365 days..

So.. If some one (using the above settings) abuses someone TWICE in the 7 days, they get an automatic 1 day ban.. but if they do it twice in 8 days, then the ban does not apply unless they go over 10 points or more..

Or, If someone posts Porn, they get an automatic 1 day ban... Then if they do it twice within a year, - then automatic 7 days ban etc..

It's pretty good at ensuring once it is set up, all bannings are consistant etc..

I never did such a thing... I removed the "For Sale" wording that was next to "Yellow '77 RA28 Celica"
