    Hi,

I'm not a big fan of mixed and/or large fonts and too many colours in the sig.

I think Nark is more annoyed by multi-coloured sigs.

Ed.... err, nice ASCII text art...

I like the new software with the User Infraction system. Some people may be only posting once per day.. or week... or even year.

ascii art will work if you use the "code" tags.

I think you need to use a monospaced font like Courier New as well.

    Hi,

Can someone explain to me why 5 lines are allocated to signatures....... why not 2 or 10. My preference would be to see it below 5 - but that is just my opinion not a complaint.

I think the approach to bring people in line with the requirement is justified though as they do take up space which you need to scroll through and in some cases the signatures are longer than the post. I'm thankful that picture signatures are not allowed. The new software sound promising. Good to see that the admin/moderators are keeping an eye on things.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

It's just an arbitrary number that was chosen because it seemed about right.

I'd prefer it to be less than 5 as well, but it doesn't bother me that much.

5 is good... it leaves enough for name, 2 cars, and 2 lines worth of quoting someone/something

But its still a link to a "For Sale" thread. A bit of a grey area, but in my book, still advertising. Sorry

    Hi,

I'm still on my "5 line sig" campaign. I've caught a few punters and gave them a nice PM and so far they've all complied, which is great, and I appreciate their compliance.

Also, just a heads-up... I include the actual word "quote" in the 5-line limit, if you quote someone. I don't worry about blank lines, unless you have a stack of them.

So, boys & girls, mums & dads, and childredn of all ages, keep an eye on your sig length or old man river will come-a PMing on your door!

As quoted By Josh and After I asked him again last night to clarify.

Basically the aim is just not to have to look at for sale ads in actual signatures all of the time. If people choose to follow the link then they have made a concious decision to do so but if you are just trying to read a thread then you shouldn't have to also look at a variety of ads etc.
