The biggest gate you can afford or that is sensible is the best, regardless of what you read. A bigger gate helps to bypass more and hence hp robbing back pressure, I Have seen as much as 25rwhp gain on the same boost and engine by simply going from a 38mm gate to a 45mm gate. And I've seen about 10 38mm gates on those cheap stainless manifolds on RB's and 2j's control boost till about 5000rpm, then just creep higher and higher, the best yet was an SR that held 14psi till 6000rpm, then creeped to 35psi by 7500, no bleed, no control, straight off the cooler plumbing. I'll be investing in one of the new TIAL 60mm gates when they are released here in aus![]()
