6-8k is bugger all. Do you do burnouts everywhere you go?!
    nope not a single burnout.

the car is a weekender so pretty much whenever it gets out its a back road blast so it cops some hard driving. it also carries a pretty nasty alignment. the backs (rwd) tend to get churned out much quiker then the fronts,

Guys how do you think the RT615's will go for a FWD daily driver?
I'll be getting them in R14 though haha and will be going to the drags occasionally!

I have them on my 4WD daily driver and I have no qualms about it. Even when the wife drives the car in the rain.

Anyone had any luck getting the RT615 in a 205/45R16 size yet?? There was talk of them possibly being imported if demand was high enough.

haven't heard of anything yet.. i'll make an enquiry when i'm buying my next set of tyres. probably just going to go for some toyo's again or give the new bridgestone RE001's a shot, have heard some decent reviews about them and they seem to mildly copy the RE01R's treadpattern.

hey guys ..... didnt get an answer to my question.

Will 225/50/16's wrap around a set of 16x7 rims fine ? these will be used as drag strip rims and rubber .... there is no intention of doing circuit work with these ..... i only ask again because ive been searching around and once again have received conflicting information ...

one source says yes the tyres are to wide another says they will be fine ..... ahhhhh the joys of people's opinions .....

all i want to know is will it be fine for my application ?

edit: 2 online resources now show its fine ......ahhh unless i hear from u guys otherwise that its a major catastrophe i think im just going to match this up and see how it goes

theyll be a little big, but by no means too wide. especially as you are using them for the drags, plenty of sidewall squash should be good

I have been doing a bit of web research on different manufaturers sites and they all seem to say for the best performance out of the tyres, you try use rims that are in the uppper half of the recomended rims size.

How does that compare to your advice?

    thing is using this site

    http://www.alloywheels.com/tyrecalc.asp

if u use the "Rim Width Calculator (Shows the rim width for any given tyre size)."

when u punch in 225/50/16 it recommends 16x6's to 16x7.5's so i would say by your advise that puts 16x7's in the upper half. but as stated above i keep hearing that they will be a bit big. Ah looks like ill just get them and try them by experience.

i would have said a 225 on a 7" rim should be ok. the manufacturer for the speicfic tyre will give a rating on rim sizes that the tyre is suitable for and this is ultimatly what you should be going off. i always used to run a 215 on a 7" and it wasnt exactly bulgy.

but a quick call to the manufacturers customer care centre should put you in the right direction

225 on 7" is just on the edge of acceptable.

I'm running 225/45R18 on 18x7" wheels and they sit perfectly.

if all your doing is drag racing, circuit/rally semi-slicks probably wouldn't be best as they have very very stiff side walls. I've got a set of Avon full slicks (215/50R15 equalivent) I run at 15PIS cold and there is still no side wall flex. I run my 195/60R14 Advan semislicks on 6 and 5.5" rims (as that's what I've got,) at 23PSI on the track (cold) once again very little side wall flex because of such a stiff side wall construction.

Mickey Thompson for street legal drag tyres all day any day.

well the range of tyres im looking at is hoosier drag radials and ive just confirmed they state their 225/50 is suited to 7 to 9 inch wide rims so looks like its smack bang on the lower limit.
