Well that would be totally and utterly wrong - Exactly the opposite, they have probably the best after-sales support around.

I had never wired up an aftermarket ECU before in my life. Able to wire up the Motec in a day and have the car running that night it's that simple. As for aftermarket support, the dealer from whom I bought it came out and checked the install free of charge. Software upgrades free of charge available on their website. Huge worldwide database from which they can sample.

I can't fault them. You definately get what you pay for. Glenn uses M800 for his dual VVTi 3SGE (making over 180 rwkW now) - he can't complain about the aftermarket support.

The only complaint I have ever heard is the price.

So you bought a V12 and you plan to use a Nintendo Gameboy to run it?

    haha... play nice now.

When i put money down on the engine, i factored around 4.5k for the ecu side of things including tuning (engine has all sensors and such still attatched)....

May just have to wait on other mods such as itb's and use that money to go towards an m800 setup *sigh.

EDIT: what kind of coinage do m800's go for and should i get it through a dealer???

Awesome work mate, Im very excited to here youve got the VVTi working. Ive got a mate who is planning some fairly decent upgrades on a VVTi 2J and until now thought he was stuck with MoTec.

(FYI: After installing an M600 on rewindsplines 2JZ.....when he upgrades to big single he was quoted somewhere between $200-300 for a complete retune by MoTec Qld. If youre planning to repeatedly tune your engine a MoTec isnt a bad way to do at all.)

its been in every zoom for the last few months mate.

the latest edition was project 2j part 9, so you will need the last 9 editions to catch up.

For our F-SAE car, we have been running an M800 and then using a Gameboy as the data display in our steering wheel. Sure as hell is cheaper than an ADL logger! WIll find a photo and add it into my post.

And it can still play Mario Kart!

The buttons are there (in black) so all the functionality of the gameboy exists. Its based on an Advance SP (with the backlighting) so full colour screen! When i get a better pic, i will post it up:
