did you end up grinding your calipers? I had to do it to mine for the Volvo 4 spot/ Magna rotor conversion on the gemini. (the magna can come as a blank 266mm rotor and slotted too).

i didn't eat into the depth just the side. where you circled. The next pair i had Perth brake parts machine for the tidier look. See if i can get a pick.

If you do do it take it at very small cuts at a time. Also caliper spacers aren't a bad idea just might a be a problem for rego though.

    you just see the cuts.

I was going to, but everyone at work is way too busy at this time of year to do it, as I was going to get someone to machine them for me. Ive been on the lookout for another set of calipers, as my dad has a hilux with solid discs, and he will buy me the rebulid kits pistons if I give him the ones ive already built

    thats a good score!!!

when i did it on those calipers. i used a very fine cutting blade and ground away (using the whole surface of the cutting disc in a feathering motion.

    Peoples,

Yesterday i picked up some rt132 hubs because my alloy wheels need around 3mm to be clear of the strut. So i install them and it didnt change a thing. It was definetly off a rt132 with twin-spot calipers.

I need some measurements with the rt132 hub on. Such as:

What is the distance from the caliper mounting point(top ear) to the outside edge of the hub?

Also what measurement do you get from the hub face to the caliper face. I get 8mm.

Cheers if you can help as i really need to know this!

the measurement i got from where the disc bolts to the hub to the mounting face for the rim is 32mm. if they are to make any difference they would need to be 35mm or more.

    cheers

Well i get 32mm aswell. However this is what i have

Either RA40 or RA60 hubs on the Xt130 strut(pug, lux, rona typical conversion)

I need a 3mm spacer to fit the wheels on. So i went and got some RT132 hubs cause apparently that will bring it out 3-4mm just what i need.

So i put them on and i still need the 3mm spacer for the wheel to clear.

So does this mean that the ra40/60 hub is the exact same as the RT132 hub?

Hm, that is strange. I wonder what the difference is, because ive pulled 3 pairs off RT132s and its all been around 36mm.

    R U SERIOUS!!!

I seriously really really really need that 4mm. Like the difference between getting my 3-piece wheel machined or not!

Maybe it was changed previously before it got to the wreckers?!

Any measurement of the actual RT132 hub i can take to compare?

EDIT: Well i measured the RT132 hubs from the mounting point of the disc to the mounting point of the wheel and i get 32mm. FFS!

I need some RT132 hubs. Anybody?

maybe we need to compile measurements versus casting marks on the hubs... i'd say identifying them from the wrecks they came from is less that reliable.

I have RT142 and XT130 hubs in the boot of the white wreck at home - will try to remember to get them out when i get home and post some notes.

Mr Chuckster, if you could do that it would be very appreciated.

    finally got around to it...

rough measurements off all 3 hubs i had (RT142, XT130 & RA40) were within 1mm of each other - the RT142 had different casting marks but spec wise was the same as the RA40

    order of measurements: RA40 / RT142/ XT130
    outer disk face OD: ~155 / ~155 / ~155mm
    wheel centering ring OD: 60/ 60/ 60mm
    ring height: 25/ 27 / 26mm
thickness between disk face & wheel face: 32/ 31/ 32mm
disk face to rear seal face: 37/ 37/ 37mm

i'm putting the variations down to my shit calipers and general accuracy slackness.

    cheers,
    Charles.
