what boost and RPM were you running to get 195kw out of the GT3071R?
also at the same 170km/h you're making 15kw less than on the stock turbos?
Cheers

I recken bang for buck, the stock ecu does a pretty good job. It can make good power and you dont have to get it tuned!! However if you are going to install some sort of aftemarket single turbo setup, yes i think it would be worth while using an aftermarket system. I cannot justify the cost involved in going aftermarket as im happy with the power output that I got before.

that will have more to do with the set up of things like air temp compensation etc than the brand of ECUOriginally Posted by SIKTOY
Now i refuse to believe that a stock standard 1ggte with standard turbo's can make near 50rwkw more than EVERYBODY elses
we have seen only a couple claiming this but there must have been be some previous cam or turbo modifications to achieve 180 odd rwkw mark on standard twins
and the fact that there are hundreds of others with all sorts of different setups that can only make around 140 on a good day
..... sorry im just jellious too cos i had to do a single conversion to get that much

was running 16 pound boost, those turbos and long gone now, blew up after a few weeks, thats why im running a big single now aswell!
Agreed! my way of thinking is call bullshit to anyone that does and get them to put it on an engine dyno and see what happens!Originally Posted by 1jzracing

More heart break and fights having come from bloody chassis dyno's.

1JZracing, Everything about the firgures your getting suggests it still has masses of untapped potentiol. Its a real shame you didn't bother to come to DD14.
As a side note I have started looking at the varying 1G turbo's and have a thread to suit.
Turbo Comaprison Thread here
I would really like to see the Blitz Bar Turbo info up as well for comparrison. Anyone who owns them brave enough to pull them down ?

Hehehe not many stock ig's are over 200kw at the wheels and they are 2litre 6 not 1.6 4pot!hahahahah, besides your talking ones that are half the way there, not my full ones!hahahahaha
but yes i laughed you bastard and yes i have a iggte and love its smoothness and its power from just upping the boost from a 2litre in a 1580kg car!
They are very impressive for there age and capacity for a stock engine, there is no doubting that.
I have a great fondness for the 1ggte.
But the 4agte, is a great package for its physical size and capacity, so![]()

I have to admit, the offboost drivability and all over finesse of the 1G's is a great part of why they are so nice to drive.

They are that smooth, that i have had times when i think it has stopped running but is just idling away, i kid you not!Originally Posted by TheToyman75

But im a sucker, i think the 4ag,3sg,1g,1j,2j,1uz are all amazing for factory engines in boosted or unboosted form.
I am not so impressed with the later engines and whats to come.
yea is a shame couldnt make it to the dyno day.... im certain i have picked a big fist full of kw with some tuning problems ironed out
it was getting a really spikey load signal (and i mean up and down quite a few load bands per second!!)
meaning i was having to retard the timing a lot more that i should to stop it pinging and getting half the cylinders running on completely different fuel and timing than the others, my average boost was much less than i thought too so my dyno graph would have been lucky to be equivilent of 15psi even though it was spiking to 17 and mixtures would have been all over the show
fixed that and feels a good 20kw stronger ... so it has to be aproaching the 200kw now

I'll try get a clearer Graph with Boost instead of Torque but here is a beter look at how things stack up. Pubes graph of course was not on the same day, but its on the same dyno. Keep in mind Blakes package runs allot less boost than mine or Pubes and has the potential to make allot more power. You can see how his power curve is coming on hard then falls away as it most likely starts to open the actuator. Add some more boost and it would be smashing the curves of Mine and pubes in the higher RPM.

We really need to see a graph comparing your and Blakes cars with the bottom axis as rpm rather than road speed. If you're both running stock management then you're both revving to the sam revs but Blakes seems to end at 215kph while yours ends at 180. I assume Blake is running much longer diff gears than you are. If they were shifted to cover the same amount of the X axis I think you'd find that Blakes graph still looks super impressive compared to the stock turbo's.
On that graph Blakes car spends ~45kph above 180rwkw while yours is only up there for about 28kph. Just doing some rough sums your car gets up to 83% of the road speed of Blakes but it is only over 180rwkw for 62% of the time that Blakes is up there.
Josh,
Putting the Graphs over RPM was what I wanted but we don't connect the Dyno to the RPM output on Dyno Days due to time constraints.
Blake runs a 3.73:1 ratio Diff I am pretty sure as opposed to my 4.1:1, With the RPM as the reference I think your right, Blakes curve should move a good deal to the left on the graph. I wonder if we can plot Blakes and my RPM based curve ?? I know his car was run in 4th just not sure which Gearbox he has (To get the gear ratio) or to be honest how to convert it from KPH to RPM. Can't be to hard tho. That makes allot more sence now
My gearbox is a supposed to be a W57. I'll try get a copy of my power curve over RPM that we could plot it against to see just how much better the single turbo comes on. Anyone up to doing the sums and photo chopping in the curve ????
