Hayndai excell has a fairly substantial bosch (or bosch-derived) PWM-driven Aux-air valve. Inlets are larger than the Ford unit.
If your going to have to buy something new, try find the 3 wire bosch valve. Uses solenoid action to both open and close it, instead of relying on a spring.
I have the 2 wire valve, haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet though, will let you know how it goes.

Thats some useful info chuckie... i might look one of them up
I was having difficulty with the Ford XF unit, as apparently they are controlled by modulating the frequency, and not the pulse width....
On a large motor, the XF would have enough control... but on my little 18RG, it didnt quite have enough control over the smaller volumes of air.
...... butt scratcher?!
so would one describe that XF IACV as a 'plunger type' or a 'vacuum type' - repco lists both types of valve for the XF and they want to know which one to order in for me...
cheers

while we are on the subject,
i swapped my gen2 3sge in but retained the gen 1 management, the Gen 1 has a Mechanical wax idle control but the gen 2 has a 3 wire electric one Atm i just have the Valve blocked off which causes me the problem of stalling till the engine is up to operating temp, then all is fine
is there a way that i could have a switch on the dash for cold /warm as a simple control for this problem and if possible use the factory 3 wire valve ? got no idea how its controlled though
thanks for any help in advance

ed: does repco say if their catalog has a picture? it's a fairly visually unique item.
i think the XF unit as previously mention ed and pictured is a "plunger" type in that the valve is held back by a spring and the motor forces it open by varying amounts.
By vacuum type, i'd guess that there is one version that uses manifold vacuum to either open/close a valve, or uses vacuum instead of a spring - neither of those methods sound very useful if you don't have a large plenum or vacuum reservoir.
Karl: it might pay to get someone to check that it's not some kind of oddball motor inside the Hayundai unit. I have one here - but no easy way of setting up a PWM driver without disabling the red car.
Ed,
The Ford valve you are chasing is no longer available from Ford or any aftermarket supplier I am aware of.
Part Number - XF9F715A, New they were just over $200

hi guys
sorry to wake a cold thread, but i'm looking to replace my setup with a plain TB and IACV.
i'm looking for the IACV inlet/outlet to be hose fittings and the body of it not to bulky. PWM preffered.
thechuckster said some Hyundai's
anyone else offer some suggestions?
i've seen this on ebay from a BMW 318i (pic below)
that's what i'm looking for, but any others?

I'm currently toying with one of the hyundai/bosch PWM valves, seems to be reasonably good. Though I don't know exactly what frequency I should be feeding it.. I've got one side earthed through a resistor, and the other earthed via the wpm output of my ecu.. It's working ok, but not perfectly.
