so going to a steel bush replacing the urethane ones will be similar to running a rose joint on there then?

I still have to check that it is the bush that is stuffed and not either the bolt holding it or the bit that it attaches to on the chassis.

Yes very similar exept no ajustment exepts by offsetting the cetre hole location and then you would ave to weld the bush to the outside of the arm so it didnt move the setting etc.
With solid bush you wont have lateral movment so it will put mor stress on things than the rose joint! but will do a similar job for lower cost if you make them yourself etc, best way is still rose joints, which you have to pay for then you have to pay for threaded bars to take the rose joints. The beauty of the rose joints is you can change the setting very quickly aswell between runs

Running steel bushes are not the same as rose joints!!

Rose joints/heim joints/spherical bushes will allow some movement other than at 90 degrees to pivot bolt.

Unless al the arrms are all exactly parallel, and the differential only moves in a perfectly level plane steel bushes will bind something horid and put a fiar bit of twisting pressure on things.

Have yet to see a drag car with suspension that does not try and twist rear end on launch, steel bushes are going to be fairly hard on rear end and body.

ok, Mick says that they are similar except no adjustments and will be hard on the diff.

Jon says that they will bind badly.

Do you think I should try them out and see how they go as I was planning to race this Saturday?

I don't really care about adjustment at this stage, I just want to be sure that my diff is still going to be pointing the same direction as it was before I started!

you can just use two! one in the broken ones place and one same bot on the other side, just use it there and the other nothelene ones can take the load out
remmeber it isnt ideal its a cheap quick fix

I wouldn't use them on my car, regardless of its use, the only way the diff can tilt relative to the vehicle is to twist something.

Ok I am going to do it. As mick says there is still urethane bushes at the diff end. Plus the rubber ones on the lower arms.

Now need to find someone to make some

    Will get some piccies.

    Hey Chris,

Just thought I'd give you an idea of what I've just completed on my rear end. We fabricated 'moly arms and used teflon-lined rod ends. Not sure if this is the sort of setup you are after, but it might give you a couple of ideas.

National Rod Ends. We bought 30 of them at around $47 each from memory.
