Hey guys,
What is the best Gearbox oil to use in the W58 gearbox?
I am going to a drift day pretty soon, and I wanna make sure
my box is well lubricated...LOL
cheers,
Bart
anyone got some tech info on the 1GGE??
so far about the only thing i difference i can tell is compression, 9.5 for the GE, 8.5 for the GTE... but is this a difference in pistons? or deck height? i understand as mentioned in a different thread the GE proabbly has the non-counterweighted crank, and we all know the cams are different. how different are the heads? valve sizes? etc... how much effort would be involved in converting a GTE to GE ('cause i can)
any food for though would be appreciated...

Having just bought a GX81 Cresta with 1G, this thread has been pretty useful for stuff that I'll hopefully need in the future, and just some stuff that's useful now. Cheers!
Out of curiosity, are Gates *supposed* to be better than genuine toyota?Originally Posted by RAd28

But what is the difference between the 90915YZZD2 suggested above, and the 15801-44011 part number suggest early in the thread?
Cheers,

90915YZZD2 is the new number for the oil filters, and has superceded 15801-44011.
Toyotas only have 2 types of oil filters as far as I am aware.
Wow... you mean all of their cars use one of two filters??
Thanks for the info!!!
Just rang ACL & they are going to help with some gaskets, rings & bearings.. eg. they will repackage some of there stock parts to suit the 1G motors.. eg. 4K bearings repackaged to 1G..
I'm getting a parts list sent to me, so i can find common parts..
valve stem seals.. ACL part number #. PA 425..
I would like any info that people have on parts that fit so i may pass the info on to ACL & get parts packaged for our motors..
Also intrested in old gaskets to copy..
PS. I'm looking at having Head gaskets made.. these will be a custom, & have a min' order number...

ACL list's the 1Geu & 1G-GEU, in N.Z. So some of the Gaskets may come from N.Z.![]()
