    which one are you using? my belkin one works fine with logworks FWIW.

    dude these things are black voodoo magic. some work, some don't they are a pain in the arse to get working and get right mate. you may find one works for the microtech the other works for the wb thing

    Adams4AGTE - Grega is correct here mate. FWIW as I said my belkin one works with both the microtech dongle and the Innovate LM Programmer and Logworks software. It is located here if you want to try to get the same type.

    Maybe get a super mega crusty tight ass old laptop with a serial port? Sort of thing you can keep in the car? Or even make a car pc?

    Meh, every serial adapter ive tried has worked with everything.
    Though, maybe thats because ive only ended up with FTDI and Prolific chip based RS232-USB converters.

    Most of the problems of them not working comes down to people not installing the latest drivers (not the ones that come with it!!) and knowing how to control the COMx port usage properly.
    WinXP will have the adapters using COM20 or something stupid which the software cant use. Its easy to fix though when you know how.

    Ok i have 3 prolific ones and the port is set to com 2 for the lc1 and com1 for the mt so yes i know how to change ports

    will look at finding a newer driver

    ps i build and repair computers in my spare time and i have a network of 12 computers running through my network as i type so i have a little bit of knowledge about them ???

    Not as yet went and got a new one $25 but have the same prob have tried about 50 drivers with no luck

    hmm OK. I will try to find time to open up my laptop today and sus it out a bit further. you said it works with lm programmer though doesnt it?
