You get some moisture in your oil anyway. Just a lot less when you dont top it up with lil bits of vapourised, recondensed, contaminated oil, so it lasts longer. Water is a by product of combustion... Remember oil in the head is constantly swished about in a steamy blowby environment. Using the can to ensure that more/all of the crap is condensed into your oil, will just shorten its life.
The size of the can is a very important factor. Oil condenses quicker than water. Different sized cans will condense everything or nothing at all..
I agree that can outlet plumbed back to the intake it lowers the oxygen level of the charge, so on a race vehicle maybe dont do it, rules permitting... But the relative volume of blowby to intake... 2 fifths of fark all.
