Yeah its a shame - Well AFAIK I am still accepted as entry #247 but if they are sending out rejection letters soon that may change.

It'll be a pity if I am rejected as I have just aquired a rollcage, rear discs, and 14" superlights to put on before MV.

Thumbs down Re: OST @ Motorvation 2007

Its official - I am not taking the RA40 to Motorvation.
I scanned the letter if you are interested in reading it.

    Page 1
    Page 2

Basically it says that they had way more entries than expected and that I was prematurely accepted. Though they also say they stopped sending letters by the 3rd week of October yet I recieved mine on the 1st of November - posted the 31st of October. They are cutting down (and will eliminate entirely in the future) race vehicles and motorbikes, so I guess thats why I was cut. They are refunding my money "shortly" and supposedly sent me 2 free passes to Satuday, although the envelope only included the letter.

Ah well. Maybe if I had carpet or something. Perhaps I can put some phat 18" rims and a doof-doof system on my 02 Corolla and enter that. Fully Sik.

Unhappy Re: OST @ Motorvation 2007

I'm not impressed with how they sent people saying "congratulations", charged the fee, and now turn around and say sorry you're not accepted.

I was looking forward to having your RA40 on display with us too. Hopefully, we'll still find some way of making you join in the fun - maybe a cruise in SPIDA sometime on the weekend?

As Damo says, chase those free passes up!

An OST boycott would probably only play into their hands of cutting the numbers, and I'm guessing everyone else is still keen to participate. Get in there for free on the Saturday Luke, and we'll try to make sure you have fun too

    Thanks guys.

I'll definitely come down and check out the action.
Especially if I get to take a spin in SPIDA.

Glytch, you can also shotgun in my car if you want.

Has an alternate display idea been established yet??

    Shirts!!! damo, rob??

can anyone make up a board that can display my cars info?? I'll pay for your services, as I don't have enough time to make my own up. made of metal with a plastic or perspex viewing window. about chest height so it's easy to read. even if someone knows who to go to would be great. cheers in advance.

yeah Gene .. apart from Luke - I think most others have received a second acceptance letter - so there will still be some 16 odd cars for OST on display
Still enough to make us stand out.

Dean - the display board you speak of sounds a lot like the one that Ross had for his Cressida last year. I think he knocked that up at work. It would be great if we all had something similar.. although I doubt Ross will have the time to do us all one.
Certainly something for people to think about tho.. especially with only a few weeks till the actual event.

I wouldn't bother hassling Rob for shirts either.. we've been waiting for those for a while. And he's defected to Supra Club WA display this year anyway so he can't be bothered helping us out.. el bastardo..

Not enough time to get the Starlet BBQ converted to an actual trailor .. but if someone can tow a car trailor then we'll just hire a trailor to get it down there since we missed out on having our own BBQ set up last year.

I think I'll organise to get everyone together and talk over a few ideas in the next week or so.. Deano - when are you back in town?

    Damo,

If you were looking for someone willing to drive the Starlet around, my brother Chris offered to do it (if you didn't want to spend all weekend doing it yourself). Anyway, just thought I'd let you know he offerred.

Damo - I can tow a car trailer and the old man has a car trailer (I was going to borrow it for MV anyway) - I dont mind bringing it down if you want. Though I wont be there the whole weekend obviously so it'll pretty much be a drop off pickup dealy.

Also - I found my free tickets, they .... dropped.... out of the envelope as I opened it and I had no idea.

plonk it down for the weekend sounds good, dont really wanna trailer it round all day, not until it is actually a trailer by itself, then we'll tow her round hehe.

Mate if your able to get drop it down and bring it back that would be awesome!!! Its rolling just like a half cut so all good. And not that heavy seeing though its missing the old donk hehe.

    Cheers

Also can tow anything if needed, just need to put the towbar back on the camry. so starlet or someones car is cool with me.

damo, i'll be back on the 9th for one week. then back to work. but i've told the boss that I need to be back for the thursday and the whole weekend and i'll fly back on monday. so make the get together on the 10 or after that. so we all have time to plan.

What about OST MV enterant stickers for front windows. like I suggested last year. stuck at the bottom of the front window.

    Deano signing out.
